Tea Party Would Cut $9 Trillion

Yeah.. as long it's on the backs of the good, hard working working class... you guys are all for it, aren't you? Never mind the aftermath and the misery that results. That doesn't matter. Koch-suckers Unite!

Tics on the government payroll are not the "good, hard working working class." They are useless parasites and a burden on every truly productive American.

damn....that is even dumber than 999

Do TeaTards really think that the Dept of Energy, EPA, Comerce have no functions that we will not have to pay to have done elsewhere?

How exactly does preserving tax cuts help the national debt again?

The dept of Energy and Commerce are two of the most useless organizations ever conceived. The EPA has gone way beyond it's mandate and intends to take total control over American industry.

  1. Repealing the president's health care reform plan.
  2. Eliminating four cabinet agencies: Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Education, and reducing or privatizing the EPA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and TSA.
  3. Ending farm subsidies, foreign aid to unfriendly nations, and student loans, or what the Tea Party report called "luxuries we can no longer afford."
  4. Suspending pension contributions and cost of living adjustments to lawmakers when the budget is running a deficit.
  5. Killing all congressional earmarks.
  6. Cut federal employee pay by 10 percent and slash employee travel to $4 billion, half of what was spent in 2000.
  7. Make the Bush tax cuts and the alternative minimum tax permanent.

Sounds like the usual ultra-rightie clap-trap voodoo economics bullshit.

More screwage of the middle class with billainaire boondoggles.

RE: The bolded parts.... Screw over agriculture, make college accessability more difficult, and cut the paychecks of the military.

Boy, these yokels are really trying to torch all their bridges, huh?

Good thing they lost all credibility after the budgit showdown.

Back to the basement clowns. Take Bachmann with you.

Funny how the front runners aren't exactly embracing TeaParty doctrine.

Immigration was a big issue in 07 and 08 and the Dems squashed that. The issue is toxic to anyone who tries to address it.

Gay marriage isn't still going strong. It's slowly becoming the norm. Abortion is still legal and probably will be for good.

The Tea Party is still in a struggle against the establishment Republicans.....but we're starting to win. Eventually RINOs will be few and far between. Anyone who is discovered to be a RINO might as well pack his bag and leave early.

Truth is once Obama is gone and the Democrats are stopped there's no reason for a Tea Party. Course if the Repugs keep throwing in with them they're gonna have their asses handed to them. We're just waiting to see what happens. Giving them enough rope to hang themselves.

It will always be a struggle, and they will never win it. Obama may go, but the democrats are here to stay. Honestly, when Romney gets the nomination will you vote for him? The rhetoric is ABO. It didn't work for the Dems with bush and it won't work now. Romney is as Rino as you can get and he is packing his bags, for the WH that is. Romney was promised the nomination just like McCain.

If it were a choice between Obama and Fred Urkel I'd vote for Urkel.

The point is we're in serious trouble as long as Obama is in power.

His replacement would remove the danger he poses to our economy and our security.

So sure I'd vote for Romney....simply because he would be an improvement.

We're in serious trouble no matter who is in charge. The replacement may not be better, as was the case when Obama got elected. Romney and Obama are so much alike, are you sure there is a difference? At the point you vote for Romney, proves the the Tea Party has no pull, and those that call themselves Tea Partiers will sell out to try and defeat Obama. (p.s. I hope Obama doesn't get re-elected either)

Key initiatives include:

Repealing the president's health care reform plan.
Eliminating four cabinet agencies: Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Education, and reducing or privatizing the EPA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and TSA.
Ending farm subsidies, foreign aid to unfriendly nations, and student loans, or what the Tea Party report called "luxuries we can no longer afford."
Suspending pension contributions and cost of living adjustments to lawmakers when the budget is running a deficit.
Killing all congressional earmarks.
Cut federal employee pay by 10 percent and slash employee travel to $4 billion, half of what was spent in 2000.
Make the Bush tax cuts and the alternative minimum tax permanent.

Repeal the ACA and replace it with what? Or is the answer ‘nothing,’ leaving millions without healthcare.

The above aren’t ‘initiatives,’ it’s butchery; it’s naïve, amateurish, and ignorant.

It’s evidence as to why the TPM must be comprehensively rejected at the polls.

Two questions:

1. Where are the defense cuts?

2. How many Americans would lose their jobs under this plan?

Only tics on the ass of society would lose their jobs. They'll have to go out and get jobs where they actually produce something consumers want. How could any rational person object to that?

Tics, eh? Are these people with muscle fasciculations? There's a huge difference between a tic and a tick. I'm going to assume that you are referring to the latter.

It's difficult to take someone seriously who calls a person who disagrees stupid, when the promoter doesn't know the difference between an arachnid and a neurological anomaly. FreedomWorks was my first clue to dismiss the plan.

That would be like the "left" promoting a plan from Soros.

And they will be. They rode the waves of dissatifisfaction into office in 2010 with a vague plan.

Now that they actually have to come up with ideas, the public realizes they all suck. Which is why they are no longer "vogue".

Wow... hate speech. You've been trained well, Koch sucker.

Yeah... they'd reinstate the incandescent light bulb, get rid of planned parenthood and cut all funds for NPR.... oh yeah... outlaw "queers".

Then we'd be all much better off.

When you can't argue with what was actually said, just make up stuff they said, right?

Repeal the ACA and replace it with what? Or is the answer ‘nothing,’ leaving millions without healthcare.

Thomas Sowell had a good response to this:

If a building is on fire, and the fire department puts it out, what do you replace the fire with?

The above aren’t ‘initiatives,’ it’s butchery; it’s naïve, amateurish, and ignorant.

It’s evidence as to why the TPM must be comprehensively rejected at the polls.

In other words, you don't want to cut spending.

Tell us something we didn't already know.

Tic Douloureux?

Yeah, I hear this from liberals all the time. If all the liberals who claimed to do charity work was telling the truth, there would be 100 liberals helping each poor person.

Are you denying my employment?

I automatically assume everything liberals say is a lie. That's what the empirical evidence tells me.

No, that's what being a moron tells you. Assuming people are lying from the get-go.

What a total douche.

I live in Texas, SURROUNDED by conservatives every day. I don't automatically assume any of them are lying when I first talk with them. What a fucking assholish thing to do.

Scoffing at Washington's troubled effort to cut just $1.2 trillion in federal debt over 10 years, the Tea Party's own debt commission today unveiled a shocking plan to slash nearly $10 trillion over the next decade, in part by eliminating several federal agencies, balancing the budget by 2015, and killing foreign aid to unfriendly nations.

"Go bold or go home," says the report from the Tea Party Debt Commission. "Are you listening, Washington?"

The FreedomWorks-led effort started months ago by asking Tea Party members for ideas on what to cut from the federal budget. They ended up going much further than Congress or the president wants.

Their plan would cut spending by $9.7 trillion, and shrink the federal government from 24 percent of GDP to 17.5 percent, in line with the post-war norm.

Key initiatives include:

  6. Cut federal employee pay by 10 percent and slash employee travel to $4 billion, half of what was spent in 2000.
  7. Make the Bush tax cuts and the alternative minimum tax permanent.

"Imagine a plan that cuts, caps, and balances federal spending without raising taxes; that gives future generations control over their own retirement security; and that lifts the massive debt burden from our children's shoulders so they can know the American dream of ever-higher freedom and prosperity. And on top of all that, imagine that it's a serious, credible, plan generated by the grassroots. This is that plan," said the report.

Exclusive: Tea Party Would Cut $9 Trillion - US News and World Report

1. Yes, still kind of riding the fence about our new HEALTH IN$URANCE plan. But something needs to change; unless you want to see the costs of healthcare continue to skyrocket. You know, everytime someone without insurance gets medical treatment and can't pay for it...who do you think pays for it? WE DO! It comes in the form of higher healthcare costs for the rest of us.

2.Farm subsidies....maybe-like the corn subsidies (thanks to President Ronald Reagan), and we get high fructose corn syrup in our sodas, juices, and multiple things. HFCS has been implicated in higher obesity rates, which increases the cost of healthcare and health insurance due to the diseases that go along with obesity (diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, strokes)

3. Would someone please explain to me how privatizing the EPA would work? Morbid curiosity.

4. Ending student loans- hey, college is overrated anyway. We need less skilled workers so that no one will have money to spend to pump back into the economy. That would be great for the economy....just what we need. And meanwhile, other countries pass us at an exponential speed at technology, progress, graduate more scientists who come to the US and get the jobs that very few Americans are qualified for. And it will keep more people on welfare and food stamps. Unless we cut that too, and then we'll have record numbers of homelessness because those who want to better themselves are unable to afford to attend.

5. Congressional earmarks-agree with that one.

6. Cutting government employee's travel? Sure. Depending on who is getting cut. The CIA, Secretary of State, etc..HAVE to travel, for our national security. 10% pay cut on gov't employees? Are you willing to take one for the team, and decrease your pay? It would help the 1%, since I'm guessing (or hoping) that you work in the private sector...or perhaps are a business owner.

7. I agree with much of the rest that you are proposing.

And just imagine hypothetically this idea bleeding down into the states. 911 privatization, where one has to buy a membership to utilize the service. That would be great. Privatized fire and police. EMS is already privatized in many services. Many work long hours in questionable safety with run-down ambulances....many have no healthcare benefits. More healthcare costs on the rest of us.

Hmmmm. If it smells like shit, and looks like shit, it's probably shit.
