Taking Trump Off the Ballot Isn't Going to Work

If Trump is legally removed from the ballot due to his ineligibility then no matter if 222 million people write his name in, he won't win.

Might as well write in Greta Thunberg, it'll have the same result.

People can write in Trump's name and will.
But not enough for him to win, that's the thing. Some will vote for a sensible Republican candidate they do put up.
Also, it's against the notion of free and fair elections to take a candidate off the ballot. Do Democrats realize that?

Um, no people are removed from ballots all the time, for not having enough signatures, for not residing in the jurisdiction, for not meeting the qualifications for office.

Would you Democrats think it a good idea to take Biden off the ballot?
If he incited an insurrection aimed at overthrowing an election, sure.

If one of Trump's asseating lackeys like DeSantis or Haley wins they'll pardon that criminal lowlife anyway.

But they can't wipe his ass for him in N.Y. & Georgia.

The voting rights act was killed by citizens united and the USSC.

If you say Trump being taken off the ballot is such a totally awesome thing for Trump, why have you made a thread crying about it?

That part I will disagree with. Each state determines its own policies regarding who will be printed on ballots. States don't have to print every candidate. That would be an impossible task, as anyone sitting on a street corner can declare themselves a candidate and start campaigning to any passersby.

By the same token, states don't have to have any pre-printed ballots at all. Once upon a time, ballots were nothing more than any piece of paper on which an individual wrote their voting choices. But that eventually became more confusing than hanging chads--especially when partisan groups began handing out pre-printed ballots that they'd give out to voters at polling stations that deceptively favored certain candidates (and often involved goons trying to force voters into using). State issued ballots became the answer to these problems as a method to ensure free and fair elections. But that came with a need for states to have reasonable procedures and policies over how to determine who will appear on the ballot.

I wouldn't be worried if we had actual democracy in this country.

The people said no to Trump every time he comes up.

Unfortunately, we are using the worst Idea of 18th Century Slave rapists to pick presidents, and we get these guys like Trump and Bush the people knew were a bad idea, but get in anyway and fuck things up.

Democracies do not take people of ballots.

They can write all they want. They would be tabulated, but would not count.

Being a candidate requires petitions. Not just anyone does that. Try a real excuse.
