Well, yes and no. Jefferson was opposed to cities and factories and technology because of their tendency to make individuals a liberal collective, but then again the culture could just as easily say, in such a place, it's important to be an individual. Our Founders were for individual liberty not because they were from cities or countrysides but because they were good thinkers.

It's capitalism and the drive to invent, succeed, better yourself, push yourself, make a difference in the world that creates those machines, and yes, libs happily take the credit for any social change that it comes along.

But isn't it a fact, that the more advanced technology is, the harder it is to get access to it? For example, the prehistoric stone weapon was available to every man. The modern guns are a lot harder, but many can still buy it. However the newest weapon, the Internet and various networks, there is no chance for you to get ever into owning them, unless you are a very special entity, like Comcast or the US military, no individual can ever dream of it. 1) a herd or communist mentality that is genetic
2) our genes encourage us to accept the communist "arguments"
3) our genes encourage us to deny the obvious, namely, that West Germany did better than East Germany
