You want the truth? Here it is.

The Problem with Socialism....
Socialism causes pollution whereas capitalism protects the environment; socialism leads to war whereas capitalism is peaceful; socialism consolidates power among an elite few whereas capitalism decentralizes and disperses power, which ultimately resides with individual consumers making small economic adjustments based on their particular needs.

Even socialized medicine proves more inequitable than market-based alternatives. Proponents of Canadian-style health care ignore the fact that “Canadian health care is actually far more expensive, and the quality far less than it would be if doctors and hospitals had to compete for patients on the basis of quality and price.”

The predictable rejoinder to such a claim—repeated ad nauseam by television personalities—is that socialism works, nay thrives, in, say, Sweden. DiLorenzo corrects the record: “Socialism nearly wrecked Sweden, and free market reforms are finally bringing its economy back from the brink of disaster.”

Strong language, but DiLorenzo maps the history and supplies the data to back it up. “The real source of Sweden’s relatively high standard of living,” he explains, has “everything to do with Sweden avoiding both world wars and jumping into the industrial revolution when its economy was one of the freest, least regulated, and least taxed in Europe.”

Socialism: “the biggest generator of poverty the world has ever known.”

Sounds like someone is a little naive to me.

Capitalism doesn't protect the environment. It's only when capitalism gets regulated that it starts to protect the environment. In China pollution levels are going down, slowly, but still going down. That's kind of socialism, in parts, and it's regulated too.

Capitalism doesn't lead to war? Are you kidding me? The Iraq War? I mean, the US is the biggest invade of countries around right now.

Sounds like your relatively uneducated...perhaps that is the driver of you blind belief in the liberal propaganda your consume.

Capitalism protects the environment far better than the .gov. Every major advancement in pollution control came by the hands of capitalism.

Capitalism doesn't lead to war....democrat crony capitalism does....

Obama will pay for you to get a clue....try it.....

Economic systems exist on a continuum. The key is identifying, implementing and maintaining the most efficient possible point of equilibrium - the point at which drag created by taxing and government scope become a net negative on an acceptable advancement of the society, both economically and culturally.

The shallow, simplistic, binary bilge that passes for economic discourse in this country is beyond tedious, and it advances nothing.
.

Poorly or inadequate regulation of capitalism causes more poverty in the world than any other economic system other than any system that is corrupted.

Given that the way for socialists to gain power is to rely on poor people, obviously they would want more of them to prey on their votes and support.

And so it isn't a very big coincidence. The secondary reason is of course that they want everyone's money and equality for everyone but themselves.

If Socialism were the biggest generator of poverty one would need to explain why for instance the Scandinavian nations have less poverty than most nations? The nations with the greatest poverty lack stable government infrastructure and an industrial base, kinda simple really. But conservatives have been trained to salivate whenever the word socialism is attached to anything at all. Oh, and no nation is strictly socialistic all are combinations of means and methods of economic processes.
