Never kick a horse turd, it may become your commanding officer

One more funny one..
When being bickered at by a dissenting elitist at a dinner party -
'Mr. Churchill, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea!'
Churchill: "And if you were my wife, I would drink it!"
- Winston Churchill
Another Churchill dialog with Lady Astor:
Lady Astor: Winston, you are drunk
Churchill: And you are ugly, but I will be sober come morning.
"If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain."
- Winston Churchill
Churchill never said it.
Even if he had, it wouldn't mean then what it would mean now.
The game of Golf would have been called 'Shit', except the name was already taken.
"If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain."
- Winston Churchill
Churchill never said it.
Even if he had, it wouldn't mean then what it would mean now.
Says who?
Churchill never said it.
Even if he had, it wouldn't mean then what it would mean now.
Says who?
It is most often attributed to Churchill. But a different version of it was first said by Francois Guisot, a French monarchist statesman:
Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head.
(Said in reference to whether France should be a republic or a monarchy.)
It was later adapted by French Premier Georges Clemenceau:
Not to be a socialist at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head.
I don't follow that logic."Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."--- C.S. Lewis

should this be in the religion thread?
There were once three frogs on a log and one of them made a decision to jump in. How many were left?
Prophecy, that one is.When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators.
