A special one for TM and Rdean...

The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. ~Norman Vincent Peale

One more funny one..

When being bickered at by a dissenting elitist at a dinner party -

'Mr. Churchill, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea!'

Churchill: "And if you were my wife, I would drink it!"

- Winston Churchill

Another Churchill dialog with Lady Astor:

Lady Astor: Winston, you are drunk

Churchill: And you are ugly, but I will be sober come morning.

I have a link in my siggy that goes to a small web page which contains a poem about the Obama and his philosophy of governing....

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is 0bamandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

We never touch people so lightly that we do not leave a trace... Peggy Tabor Millin

Skull Pilot used to have something like this in his sig line,

"If you want the government to give you rainbows and puppies, don’t complain when you are cleaning up dog shit in the rain."

I always liked that.

"If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain."

- Winston Churchill

Churchill never said it.

Even if he had, it wouldn't mean then what it would mean now.

My old siggy:

History and future are the comforts of our curiosity but here we are, rooted in the present day.

"Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."

-Albert Einstein

A poster hangs in my office, which states;

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

I hung up that same poster in my room when alcohol was banned from the barracks. Tops didn't like it.

Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.
