shouldnt health care be free to all of us

DK. Anyone can walk into an emergency room and be treated. They cannot be turned away. Churches and private charities do great things for the poor. The only downside is you must be a member of the church to receive aid. PSYCH! NOT!:p:

eau contraire, their condition must only be stable. walk into an emergency room with a cold, they will give you antibiotics or some such BS. walk into an emergency room in dire pain because of a protracted illness that requires a specialist treatmen, you'll get painkiller only and a referral for a specialist.....which you'll have to pay for. If you can't afford the specialist, stretch out the painkiller.

But they will stop you from dying. I know that's shit. Life should be a neverending "money for nothing, chicks for free" scenario, shouldn't it.

where did I say they were dying? no where at all did I say they were dying. You 'assumed' that and that makes you wrong.

there are plenty of illnesses out there that cause great pain, discomfort, and debilitations that don't cause death.

so take your "money for nothing, chicks for free" shit, stuff it up your ass, and maybe you can get it removed at the emergency room for free, fuckhead.

I didn't say you said they were dying. I'm talking about the level of care in emergency rooms. They won't let you die. That's all I was saying.

well no shit. now what do we do about all the non life threatening cases? say tough shit, its not my problem?

I think you should know where DK is coming from - when things were bad for us and he was out of work for so long, I nearly friggin died from my kidneys shutting down due to complications from systemic lupus erythemous.

Maybe the way you all are saying the ERs and such should be, SHOULD be that way. But Im telling you, I was carried through the front door and it DOES NOT work that way.

I am NOT saying that someone else is responsible for my medical care goddamnit - before ANY of you even DARE as to INTIMATE to that shit, let me shut you up NOW.

One visit to my specialist cost a baseline of 3000.00. add anything else such as bloodwork, mri's, xrays, or ANY of the shit I tend to need, I dont walk out of there for under 7000.00 most time - whether or NOT Ive had insurance - and yes, you DO have to pay at LEAST 85-90% UP FRONT. Im not saying this from 'how I believe'. Im saying this from experience. Experience that Id wager few of you have, thank God.

Last year, my meds were over 10,000. WELL over. Thats what we paid. Dr's were more than that, and Im not EVEN going to tell you what hospital visits were. Its outrageous.

And yes, Ive been turned away from ER's - it may not be legal, but please....think of how much goes on in this country that isnt legal every fucking day.

Well, pretty much.

Some of the rich folks sometimes go to the states for CAT scans. But that's about as far as it goes.

Do you factor all these incidences of leaving the freakin country for reasonable care in as failures of your system? Or are they just funny anecdotes you tell at parties?

Yeah the huge exodus is absolutely staggering. I mean Moses has nothing on our healthcare refuges. The pilgrims from Toronto are already causing are making a giant tent city in Buffalo. Don't tell anyone, but it's only time before Seattle is overrun by BC'ers looking for flu vaccine's.

Come on.

Isn't that where you're trying to part lake superior as well?

Hard to say mexicans drain our healthcare system when most illegal laborers pay taxes under false SS numbers and the nature of our problem is such that we don't know what effect they have on our economy.

There are two major studies that detirmine the effect of illegal immigration, one demonstrated that they contribute 16 billion dollars and the other demonstred that they drain 8 billion. We don't know what they do because we don't know how many there are, how many pay taxes, how much extra money it generates for businesses, and how much money comes out of the pockets of illegals and goes directly into local economies. The image of the lazy mexican immigrant bleeding the system dry is mainly a myth. If they weren't profitable we wouldn't let them stay.

Yeah we tried that. Worked for awhile and certainly suprised the heck out of the people in the sailboats. Then we realized that we could get to Buffalo by using a bridge and showing our driver's license. But hey to each their own! :p

Isaac,

Take all of are mexicans and we will see how well your health care system in Canada is doing.

Hey, keep a look out for this guy:
http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/newsreleases/release.php?id=5411

Well it only works if you're a legal citizen in Canada. You have to show your medical card to get free access to our system. Of course they're sent out automatically if you are registered to pay taxes.

Right... I'll make sure to frisk every black guy I see until I find the one guy who likes it.

In Canada if someone is not a Canadian citizen and needs emergency health care (life or death) a Canadian hospital will turn them away?

it does suck.

I hate drs - although I do respect them. hate hospitals....I dont play well with others and have a tendency to rip out IVs and throw them at people, among other things...lol (its true, ask DK ha ha)

However, I feel 'much better now'.lol

Pls understand RWA, I dont feel that someone else is responsible for my healthcare....I truly dont. I just wanted to make it understood where DK is coming from and why. He's already been bashed on this board because of me once. And that was from lack of understanding. Not that you or anyone else owes him or me understanding. fuck, I dont know what Im saying.

(on a different note - I did it! lol - got my nose pierced tonite teehee!)
