Should We Be Excusing Evil?

1. While there may not be a debate over how to recognize 'evil,' there appears to be a huge degree of evil itself in attempting to excuse evil.
There are apologists for evil whose motives need be questioned.

2. Case in point:

a. "The Wendy's massacre was a mass murder that took place in a Wendy's fast-food restaurant at 40-12 Main Street in Flushing, Queens, New York City, New York, on May 24, 2000. Seven employees were shot in the head and five of them died."
Wendy's massacre - Wikipedia

b. "....Jaquione Johnson, was the second survivor to take the witness stand and recount, in harrowing detail, the hellish events in the basement of the Wendy's in Flushing on May 24, 2000.

Mr. Johnson, 20, who was shot in the top of his head and spent months recovering in a rehabilitation facility, testified to seeing much more than the other survivor, Patrick Castro, who said during his testimony on Wednesday that the gunmen covered his eyes with duct tape. Mr. Castro said he could hear screams and gunshots, but was unable to see what was happening inside a walk-in refrigerator where the gunmen held seven bound and gagged employees before shooting them." Second Survivor of Wendy's Massacre Tells of Seeing Killings

3. "A writer on the World Socialist website...[claimed] the Wendy's murders were neither gratuitous nor evil,...but rather reflected the poverty, injustice, and frustration of American society....
Here is the moral mirror-work that yields relativism.
An Unjust society's poverty (supposedly) clears the Wendy's killers, or mitigates their guilt. Society is responsible, not the individual criminals.

...a misguided ideological effort to explain away acts that originate not in the injustices of a social system but elsewhere- in viciousness and stupidity and indifference to life..." Lance Morrow, "Evil: An Investigation," p. 91-92

4. There are two possible sources that may qualify as able to judge 'misguided ideological' worldviews: one is the Founder's view, the Judeo-Christian faith, ...and the other is the faiths of Marx and Hegel, Communism, and Liberalism.

Ned Ryun:
"Liberals are acting horrified at "the end result of the conditioning that they have received for years....this is a culture that the Left created....some of us [conservatives] have rejected that culture, we actually believe in self-discipline, we actually believe in virtue, ...

...now they want to bestow (?) that sort of behavior on all men...it didn't come from the Right, it was created by the Left....."

Thanks, I always appreciate being told what liberals believe by a conservative.

Nikolas Cruz was merely the latest example of the Liberal war on society.

Check out these numbers:

"Carter-appointed [Liberal] judge Norma Shapiro “ is one of the worst offenders among that influential cadre of federal judges who have substituted the ACLU's prisoners' rights wish list for the Bill of Rights and have trifled with public safety concerns. …single-handedly decriminalized property and drug crimes in the City of Brotherly Love….

And in the past 18 months alone, 9,732 arrestees, out on the streets on pre-trial release because of her prison cap, were arrested on second charges, including 79 murders, 90 rapes, 701 burglaries, 959 robberies, 1,113 assaults, 2,215 drug offenses and 2,748 thefts….

Activist [Liberal] judges such as Shapiro and Justice assert that prison crowding violates the Eighth Amendment's ban on cruel and unusual punishments. But there is no empirical evidence to substantiate this assertion. In every study of the subject, the widely believed negative effects of crowding - violence, program disruption, health problems and so on - are nowhere in evidence.” Archives - Philly.com

a. In 1992, black youths were nine times more likely to be murdered than white youths. Liberals lied, black kids died.

b. "There is an activist [Liberal] judge behind each of the most perverse failures of today's justice system: violent offenders serving barely 40 percent of their sentences; 3.5 million criminals, most of them repeat offenders, on the streets on probation and parole; 35 percent of all persons arrested for violent crime on probation, parole or pretrial release at the time of their arrest." (Article cited.)

And...again, Obama's refusal to allow Nikolas Cruz to be arrested, and have a felony record, obviated any background checks....

....and allowed Cruz to obtain the weapons that he used to kill innocent Americans.

Obama was the massacre's facilitator.

Cruz performed this under Trump watch and Devos, and Obama and Obama had nothing to do with what Cruz did.

Gads, you're an imbecile.

How many have they prevented , mass shootings since 2011. You love to blame Obama but this is happened in 2018, and the cops didn't make any reports when they were called to his home.

What do you want kids to do go to prison?

PS: Wendy's massacre was committed by a 36 year old and also give me a link to the social site you read about the book on.

According to the Obama administration’s 2014 “Dear Colleague” guidance, any school district whose disciplinary measures showed “disparate impact” – meaning a disproportionately greater number of minority students are affected – is open to investigation by [Obama] the Departments of Justice and Education, regardless of whether the behavior leading to the discipline is unacceptable."
Broward County Likely ‘Inspiration’ for Obama School Discipline Policy to Report Fewer Arrests, Suspensions | Breitbart
Your dishonesty is still going strong. You misquote the “Dear Colleague” guidance. The guidance says nothing about whether the behavior leading to the discipline is unacceptable. That is a Breitbart opinion. An actual guidance quote is: "Both Title IV and Title VI prohibit schools from intentionally disciplining students differently based on race".

Here read about it. I am against suspending and expelling kids from schools , they need a alt ed program.

Wonder how many mass shootings have been stopped since implementing the programs.

Actually, I have no problem with expelling students from school...in fact I am all for school choice.....schools should get back the CHOICE of whether to keep a disruptive or failing student or get rid of them.

Those crops in the field aren't going to pick themselves when all the illegals get kicked out. Put the expelled kids out there. Get their attention. Show them what their future is with no education.

They should be made to go to alt ed. What is there to do for kids when expelled or suspended, get in more trouble.

I do so love your autobiographical posts.
Fascinating that you would think that that comment was autobiographical....where did you gain your insight?

So he is kicked out of school and working some part time job, and got pisssed, probably because he was kicked out of school.

Did you imagine (I almost said 'think') that 'cut and paste' is a pejorative????

Let me disabuse you of that error.

Some pointers.

1. Citing an authority with an established reputation is better, of course, than citing someone whose credentials are not so lofty. (http://www.ccc.commnet.edu/mla/practical_guide.shtml)
Composition Patterns: Developing an Argument

2. What has been pejoratively referred to as ‘simply cut and paste,’ is, in fact, carefully chosen to substantiate a point. Is the information covered fact, opinion, or propaganda? Facts can usually be verified; opinions, though they may be based on factual information, evolve from the interpretation of facts.(LibGuides: Critically Analyzing Information Sources: Critical Appraisal and Analysis)

3. A valid objection to this selection of sources may be the type of audience being addressed. Is the ‘pasted selection’ aimed at a specialized or a general audience? Do you find the level ‘over your head’ or is this source too elementary? Ibid.

4. Are you objecting to the author's credentials--institutional affiliation (where he or she works), educational background, past writings, or experience? Or simply looking for a weapon to attack the post? This, of course, would be puerile.

5. Providing summaries or outlines of a source is valid as long as a link to the original is provided, and the author’s meaning is conveyed.

6. Nor is it necessary to insert one’s own language if the original article is simply abbreviated, with link provided.

7. What has been called ‘cut and paste’ is frequently the message board version of footnotes and endnotes of an academic essay. “…footnotes were declared outmoded just before the era of the word-processors which make using footnotes so much easier. Still, because of its relative ease in both writing and reading, parenthetical documentation is greatly preferred by most instructors.” http://www.ccc.commnet.edu/mla/practical_guide.shtml
websites.wnc.edu/~kille/Fred/researchpaper.rtf

While a public message board is the exact venue for giving opinions no matter their provenance, their attachment to reality, or even whether they are on a cognitive wavelength of any human on the planet, one should invest more credence to those that are able to show relevance, documentation and/or links.
