Should the mainstream, status quo parties be nervous about Ron Paul yet?

The Ron Paul who whines about earmarks but never met one he didn't take for his own district?

The Ron Paul who whines about term limits but made a career out of congress?

You should really read up more about him before making and epic size fool of yourself.

RP does not like earmarks but as he states, the money is taken from us so I have to get it back until I can't stop it from being taken. Then, as someone said above, RP votes against the bill.

Same goes for his term limits, he wants to limit how long someone can be in congress but there is only one way he can ever manage to get rules like that passed and that’s to be in congress until the rule is changed. That would be like me saying "so you believe in gloabal warming and yet you drive your car to work everyday." You would claim that until things change you can only work to change them.

So, your attacks on RP like so many others are weak and desperate. Your attack is aimed at the politically lazy people because they won’t bother to look any deeper than they are told.

Ron Paul wins CPAC landslide - The Hill's Pundits Blog

An actual, hardcore fiscal conservative won the poll and this means he'll be one of the 3 finalists for Republican nomination should he decide to run for president.

The man who finished 2nd is essentially the original founder of Obamacare, Mitt Romney.

Is it time for real hope and change?

good one

Try and refudiate anything I just said, take a swing.

refudiate?

Paul won back in 2008! Paul won all the debates online votes. He has a devoted bunch. However, when it came the primaries he got his salad tossed. Truthfully if I was a Democrat I would vote for Paul, because that would guarantee an Obama reelection.

(1) Federal Reserve: Calling an end to the Federal Reserve comes off good to some people, but that is not a good message to win the independents.
(2) Law Enforcement: He says he wants to get rid of the FBI, CIA, DHLS, DEA and other government law enforcement bodies. Imagine the attack ads against this!
(3) Racist Newsletters: Those racist newsletter will come to the forefront again. Yes Paul claims he didn't pen them, but newsletter was in his name. So he is either a racist or very neglectful to what he tosses his name on.
(4) Porker: Do people realize that Ronnie used more pork for his TINY district then any of the other candidates in the last Republican primaries (even a few Democrats beat him). Authorizing even ONE DOLLAR of pork shoots down Ronnie's self-proclaimed status of KING FISCAL CONSERVATIVE. Taking Pork directly contradicts him superiority claims, yet he took a ton of earmarks! Making him the King Hypocrite!
(5) Non-interventionalist: This stance whether rightfully or wrongfully gets called isolationist. Isolationism with the threat of global Islamofacism and the bad taste of it before WW II doesn't sit well with the majority of Americans.
(6) Sudan and Iran: Doesn't care that the Sudanese are getting slaughtered and went on record to say he wouldn't have even acknowledged the Rwanda Genocide!
(7) Education: He wants to get rid of the department of education and have education all privatized! Yes, this is sit well with the moms and dads in America!
(8) Age: The man is 75 years old (emphasis on OLD). In two years he will be 77. At 77 he would be the oldest President ever to take office. At the end of a first term he woud be 81. Imagine all the early mourning meetings, since Ronnie would want to hit the early bird special and be in bed by the ripe old hours of 6:00! LOL

The list goes on and on. The man will get exposed as a radical (justifiably so on many issues), hypocrite and a racist (those newsletters are damaging whether you want to believe them or not; not to mention Rand's stupid comments on making Blacks get food at the backdoor of the restaurants!

I think Palin, Bachman and Ron Paul would be gifts ---> TO AN OBAMA REELECTION!!!

Herman Cain 2012!

1.) The Fed is unconstitutional, so you either take the document seriously or you don't. We'll never go long periods without economic disaster with the fed in place.
2.) All those agencies are just evidence of us excusing how big government has gotten.
3.) If Obama's reverend doesn't make him unelectable, neither will the letter or a hundred letters.
4.) I've already addressed this, besides many decades of voting down spending and big budgets should trump that a million times over.
5.) If Ron Paul ran on providing an enormous tax cut that would take the place of this military spending spree I think a lot of people would buy into it, maybe not.
6.) Handled perfectly, it's not the american taxpayer's job to save Sudan or Rwanda.
7.) Department of education started in 1979, schools never needed it before, don't now. Our education system is a pathetic joke, radical change is necessary.
8.) Yes his age is a huge concern, being a doctor though I'd be more confident in his health at this age than most others. It's probably something he's taken seriously and McCain recently running probably helps him.

The man is a radical compared to the norm, exposing that will only help him.

When you really listen to the guy..he comes off as a loon. He's constantly talking about economic collapse and must really think this country has 13 colonies..

Correct, he takes the Constitution seriously unlike the rest of Washington.

He is a radical compared to the norm you like, and the norm of the party you don't like, hence why I view him as such a great politician.

If he were a "great politician" he would of gotten the party's nomination. He hasn't. And the speech he gave at the CPAC is part of the reason why..

The only people clapping were Ron Paul devotees..while the bread and butter conservatives attending basically sat there and ignored it. Mitt Romney told the folks what they wanted to hear. That the countries economic problems started on January 20 2009, that President Obama was the cause of all things bad, and that the world is a terrible place looking to take away the Freedoms of Americans.

He would get the Republican's nominee if the Republican party wanted big change. The Republican party would rather have Obama run on their ticket than Paul.

Take your own advice junior. I created this thread during the Republican Presidential Primaries and was shocked to find out what a porker Radical Paul was! In the original post, I listed links to my RELIABLE sources!

Senate:
(1) Thad Cochran - Fake Republican out of MS - #1 - $846 million
(13) Clinton - Why am I not surprise she is so high - $296.2 million (This is obviously before she became secretary of State)
(20)Harry Reid- Preach how wasteful the war is, but you waste $259.3 million yourself
(21) Dick Durbin - Please Sauerberg beat this guy (sorry to say Steve lost), he is bleeding IL dry - $256.3 million
(33) Ted Kennedy - One of the worst Americans alive (but now he is dead)- $192.1 million
(34) Lieberman - Yep he is still a Democrat -$149.4 million
(38) Kerry - $138.8 million
(60) Obama - I was actually pleasantly surprised how low he was. However, I am skeptical that it is so low because he hasn't been in office long and his campaigning has interfered with his senate job. - $97.4 million (obviously when he was a senator)

Bottom of the List with a big $0 - that is not spending a cent for all of you slow people!
McCain and Feingold!
Now that is true fiscal conservatism!

The House
http://www.cagw.org/site/DocServer/H...pdf?docID=3022
in the Millions
(1) Wicker - $176.3
(3) Murtha - $159.1
(7) Biden - $139.9 (for his little shitty state)
(19) Pelosi - $91.2
(23) Hobson - $88

Ron Paul - $22.7 million for his tiny district (tiny in size, population, revenue generation, business locals and importance to the country)- middle of the list not sure the number- I was very surprised. You would figure this guy would practice what he preaches and spend nothing (like McCain did), but I guess he is just a politician. There were 276 representative that spent less, including 10 that spent $0!

Here is a list of '08 presidential candidate that spent less than Ron Paul and the number of space they beat him by:
Tancredo - $17.6 - 52 lower
Duncan - $15.9 - 75 lower
Kucinich - $8.1 - 182 lower
Graves - $6.7 - 196 lower

Shocking Ron Paul!

Where did that term come from?

Monday mornings aren't the best times for jokes, I should've waited (or gotten better material I guess).

you're too modest by far.

this whole thread is extremely humorous.

i don't think anyone can *refudiate* it.

That's a Sarah Palin term, hence it being a joke, this thread is about me being anti status quo. Palin is right on line with every republican talking point.

Shocking Ron Paul!

You didn't even argue with anything the last poster said. He already admitted that Paul gets the money returned to his district because it's going to be spent anyways and..............HE VOTES AGAINST BILLS WITH EARMARKS FOR HIM IN THEM!

I think you need to take the bigger issues more seriously, like when the mainstream republicans that will run on the 2012 ticket were approving enormous, unforgiveable budgets from 2000-2006 when they had power. I'd worry more about the trillions and hundreds of billions than the tens of millions.

Should the mainstream, status quo parties be nervous about Ron Paul yet?

Of course not, I can't believe you even asked that question.

I think Ron Paul's biggest problem is that many US voters vote as though it's a beauty contest,,,,you have to be good looking and youthful.
I sincerely don't think that McCain would have chosen Sarah Palin if he wasn't forced to because of his age and let's face it, McCain isn't the handsomest guy.
Look at Palin's biggest loyal supporters, white men! She's losing the women as women are more objective thinkers about other women.
If Americans in general were more astute about the issues, Paul would have a much better chance to not only win the GOP nomination but also the presidency.

Should the mainstream, status quo parties be nervous about Ron Paul yet?

Of course not, I can't believe you even asked that question.

Yeah I don't really think so either, if he were 45 and handsome with the same message maybe, but not now.

Naah he actually wants to reduce the size of government. And a high percentage of voters are government workers either directly or indirectly.

This stance is not a popular won, regardless of any argument Ronnie can make that its unconstitional.

2.) All those agencies are just evidence of us excusing how big government has gotten. Yea I hate those FBI agents that keep us safe! Hell lets just get rid of the military, because that is always popular with Republicans!

3.) If Obama's reverend doesn't make him unelectable, neither will the letter or a hundred letters. LOL Junior, are not aware that there is a doubel standard between Democrats and Republicans associations? LOL. Are you not aware there is a double standard between White and Black politician associations? Reading these letters, which would happen if he won the nomination, would be too damaging to a White Republican politician, the Obama might win texas!

4.) I've already addressed this, besides many decades of voting down spending and big budgets should trump that a million times over. LOL, when he directs tens of millions of ham sandwiches to his tiny meaningless district, he doen't have decades of voting down spending! He has the opposite. You trump nothing!

It's not something that will be tested about because no matter what, including votes, he's not going to be the man at the end running against Obama.
