Should school children recite the Pledge of Allegiance?

Yes. Pledging allegiance to your country is noble, and it unites people in expressing loyalty to their homeland and countrymen.

It was customary in the schools where I substitute teachered years ago. Then one day a 4th grader reminded me that she didn't recite the Pledge because she was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church. I'm like "fine with me". From then on, each morning wherever I happened to be teaching for the day- I'd announce "for those who so choose, please stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance". I don't remember anyone who remained seated. At least I gave them the option LOL.
