Should elected democrats undermine Trump as the GOP undermined Obama?

Are you then stating that for the last 8 years we have had a "country completely free" of GOP influences???

Did or did not the GOP oppose ANYTHING that Obama proposed?

They did not. That's why taxes were increased on people making over 450K a year. That's why corporation taxes were increased along with capital gains.

Always remember that McConnell and company met from Obama's first days as president and concluded that their MOST important role was to ensure that Obama would only be a one-term president and that anything that Obama proposed (even former GOP initiatives) should be met with elected GOPers' opposition.

Should the same be done with the Trump administration? Will we gain have a do-nothing (except constant opposition) congress?
Trump has no intention of undermining America's strength and prestige...which was Obabbles intention....and deserved undermining. Obama is a fucking moron.

"Should elected democrats undermine Trump as the GOP undermined Obama?"

No it would be a huge mistake. The democrats must realize why and how they lost. They lost all over the nation. State houses and governorship's, even down to county and cities. Democrats only control 5 state houses. They need to first except how badly they lost, then they need to stop segmenting Americans and begin to work with the GOP to make America great again. If they leave it up to Trump and the GOP to do it alone they will doom their party forever.
If they stand in his way they will get run over.

YES

But not out of spite or for solely political reasons. Trump's fascist agenda, the racism, sexism and neo con ism of his cronies is enough to make a real American patriot puke.

"True".......The US under Obama has NO strength and NO prestige in this world, correct???....and that is why the entire planet is so damn antsy about electing an orange clown to the presidency......LOL

No, Democrats should not take example of the smaller, dumber party.

The initial Senate version of Obamacare was passed on December 24, 2009, with a 60-39 vote.

Are you stating that the 2 independents were not really "independent"?
Should I list how many times Lieberman voted against democrat proposals?

Absolutely!!! Undermine him on infrastructure spending, Obstruct him on Obamacare replacement, Oppose him on trade renegotiation. I'd love to see a country completely free of Democrat influence...and with your help, we can see that dream come to fruition!

That went right over your head didn't it.

Well, Tipsy stated that Trump will undertake infrastructure spending (while giving huge tax cuts, by the way)....so such a proposal will only reflect what Obama has been trying to get across but denied by the GOP congress.

Secondly, re-tooling Obamacare really boils down to KEEPING most of what the ACA got across.

Third, re-negotiating trade deals is a good thing, but since it takes 2 to tango, we will see how well THAT works out.....I wish trump lots of luck on this latter objective....Really, I do.

Obama got almost a trillion dollars from Bush for infrastructure and pissed it away on social engineering BS and green energy companies for his cronies that went bankrupt. Trump will actually spend it on the 'crumbling' infrastructure that you LWNJ's have been whining about for years.

That's why corporation taxes were increased along with capital gains.

Can you list the number of corporation who actually paid the full 33.8% ???

It would be "enlightening".....

That's irrelevant. The point is the Republican Congress did cave in to some of DumBama's requests.

Obama had no intention on working with anybody on the Republican side. During his time in office, he made comments like "The Republicans can come along for the ride, but they will have to sit in the back seat," and who can forget "I have a pen and I have a cell phone!"

During the end of his second term, even he admitted he should have tried to work with the Republicans, but didn't.

So you're giving them DC? Really?

I gave them everything Mondale won vs. Reagan in 1984, minus Minnesota, which damn near went Trump this election. Seemed fair...

Obama got almost a trillion dollars from Bush for infrastructure

Lol you are retarded.

What you just said is pure fantasy with not even slight connection to reality.

Infrastructure spending was in Obama's stimulus bill which contained about 100 billion specifically to that end.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - Wikipedia

Read this.

"President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness met today in Durham, NC at Cree Inc., a company that manufactures energy-efficient LED lighting. One of the Council's recommendations to President Obama was to streamline the federal permit process for construction and infrastructure projects. It was explained to Obama that the permitting process can delay projects for "months to years ... and in many cases even cause projects to be abandoned ... I'm sure that when you implemented the Recovery Act your staff briefed you on many of these challenges." At this point, Obama smiled and interjected, "Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected." The Council, led by GE's Jeffrey Immelt, erupted in laughter."

They held supermajorities in both houses for over 120 days, they could have passed sweeping gun control legislation, environmental policy, entitlement reform... anything they wanted. But they chose to ram a healthcare law down our throats. And when they lost those supermajorities, a do nothing congress was a result.

Now.......why insist on showing your ignorance.....

When did Obama have that "super-majority"????
...and WHEN was the ACA passed???

You make this too easy. I erroneously stated both houses, but there were two periods in the first two years where Democrats held a supermajority in the senate:

July 7, 2009 to August 25, 2009 and September 25, 2009 to February 4, 2010.

The initial Senate version of Obamacare was passed on December 24, 2009, with a 60-39 vote.

On March 21, 2010 the House passed the Senate version of the bill 219-212 with 34 Democrats and all Republicans voting against it. If it weren't for the Senate supermajority, Obamacare would have been hung up for months more.

In those two time periods, all the House had to do was propose and pass a bill, and that bill would have passed no matter what in the Senate.
