Is there a difference between geek sex and, well, "other" sex?

Absolutely, says Violet Blue, a San Francisco-based sex blogger, author and self-described "sex educator." Blue led a SXSWi presentation titled, "The Sexual Survival Guide for Geeks,"or, as she put it, "booty call boot camp." Not surprisingly, it was well attended.

"Flirting with geeks is really different than flirting with regular people," said Blue, who dressed for the occasion in knee-high boots, lacy stockings and armfuls of tattoos. "Geeks tend to read signals not the way that other people read signals." In other words, they may not be as attuned as most people to body language and other social clues, she said.
Blue described the Austin, Texas event as a hotbed of hook-ups.
