He was the first Dem I ever voted for (my first election, in 1976), and also the last.

My parents came from Jewish Democrat families, and Dad’s first vote was in 1948 for the Dem, and Mom’s in 1952. After that, every election up to and including Carter in 1976, went to the Dem. In 1980, they went Reagan, and never voted for another Democrat the rest of their lives - which in Dad’s case was almost 40 more years.
