Well, that would mean the GOP giving up a seat that a DEM governor would fill until there is an election.

Quite the dilemma facing them. As a minimum if he stays he may not be the loyal republican that just checks yes. Then again with all the republican back lash , how can we believe anything they say about him. Funny Santos is a fraud but Trump is a fraud but he is their messiah.

There's $400,000 which is unaccounted for. Claims that Santos put up $700,000 of his own money, but no proof that this true. His campaign accountant refused to sign the financial statements for submission and the accountant whose name is on the statements said he never signed them, and he refused to take the job when it was offered.

Evidence is that the entire Republican Party in that district knew that Santos was lying about everything and they did not care. They ran him anyway. This tells you the level of contempt they hold their voters in.

And it's not true that the evidence was insurmountable, especially in the case of Al Franken. There's no one on that list who was facing criminal charges except Weiner, who has always lived up to his name.
