Who cares? Illegal shine is probably the worst tasting crap in the world and you can buy cheaper and better whiskey in the state run ABC stores. The point is that distilling for your own use going back to the beginning of time is considered illegal by local,state and federal law even if it tastes bad. It's all about antiquated tax laws.
