"I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world. I come with the heartfelt wishes of my people for peace, bearing honest proposals and looking for genuine progress."

Anyone have any thoughts about the SPEAKER of the above "Citizen of the World" quote.

Citizen of the World Rips America
July 24, 2008
RUSH: I'll wait until we get the bites and see if what I'm expecting in these, "citizen of the world" stuff. When he started talking about that, that's when the red flags went up. And one of the things about this citizen of the world stuff, I understand what he means by it. You know, we've all got to come together and get along and all of this, but I tell you, I'm growing weary of Democrats and their presidential candidates finding something wrong with being an American citizen. Or maybe not finding something wrong with it but wanting to deemphasize American citizenship.

What do you say about it? Better yet... are you an American, or a "citizen of the world?"

I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world. I come with the heartfelt wishes of my ..........

Ronald Reagan: Remarks in New York City Before the United Nations General Assembly Special Session Devoted to Disarmament

:lol:Lordy, Ed, you reeled that one in!

I wanted to wait till he said Reagan would never be both. LOL
You waited for nothing then.

No, I'm not a citizen of the world. I'm an American. I was born in America, not the world. I served in the United States Air Force, not the Air Force of the world. I live in the state of Wisconsin, in the United States of America, not Wisconsin, the world. Get it?

Now... got any more cockamaamy ideas you think are so cheeky?

I'm sorry Reagan and I are not good enough Americans for you and Rush.

Haha, that sounded kinda funny.

Yep, just checked Google Earth, seems the US is still part of the world as a whole. Some people's children.

Of course Reagan spoke those words on US Soil... and his words that followed spoke to the potential of freedom, as lead by the US... where the US is a shining city on a hill to which the world should aspire... In contrast to the Lord of the Idiots; King Hussein... who spoke those words on foreign soil and who apologized for what he saw as America's hubris...

The Former, a patriot exuding America's justifiable hubris... the latter a feminized Socialist intent on reigning in that American spirit; on the vacuous premise that it's just not FAIR, that America should be THAT GOOD, when the Feminized socialist of Europe are so BAD.

Nothing complex really... Reagan was an American, Hussein and anti-American... Reagan was good; Hussein the pure imbodiment of evil.

But hey... what leftist isn't?

Another gem... this thread seems to be a goldmine! :D

I will respond to that with a couple of famous quotes from no less famous personalities... enjoy and consider:

"Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind."
-- Albert Einstein

"Nationalism is a power hunger tempered by self-deception."
-- George Orwell
