Rush Limpnoodle 'Obama reacted to fast to Haiti'

WASHINGTON, Thursday, January 14, 2010 —

With estimates that as many as three million people may be affected by the catastrophic earthquake which hit Haiti Tuesday, the American Red Cross is releasing an additional $9 million for earthquake relief, bringing its total commitment so far to $10 million to support relief efforts in Haiti.

Priority needs in Haiti are food, water, temporary shelter, medical services and emotional support. Thousands of local Red Cross volunteers are aiding their fellow Haitians. American Red Cross Disaster management specialists are scheduled to arrive today from the United States, Peru and Mexico to join local Red Cross staff already on the ground in the disaster zone. As soon as airports begin accepting relief shipments, tarps, hygiene items and cooking sets for approximately 5,000 families will come from the Red Cross warehouse in Panama.

The American Red Cross is also helping the injured who may need blood. Blood and blood products were shipped to the U.S. Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, and then on to Guantanamo Bay to help Haitian evacuees and patients.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has a plane full of mostly medical items on the way to Haiti from Geneva. ICRC staff, including engineers, a surgeon and family linking specialists are expected to arrive in Port-au-Prince this morning. Other Red Cross partners have deployed a mobile hospital, medical teams, and 40 staff to help with sheltering, providing water, sanitation, and telecommunications.

ICRC is helping reconnect separated families in Haiti through a special web site which enables people in Haiti and outside the country to search for and register the names of relatives missing since the earthquake. In the first twenty-four hours, more than 6,000 people have been registered.

"Now, I want you to remember it took him three days - three days - to respond to the underwear bomber. Three days - and when he came out after those three days he was clearly irritated that he had to do it. He didn't want to do it. He comes out here in less than 24 hours to speak about Haiti...I don't have the whole press conference but I wonder did he apologize for America before acknowledging we are the only people on earth who can help them out down there in any significant way."
-- Rush Limbaugh, Link

When Democrats heard the news, they asked, "How can we help?"
When Robertson and Limbaugh heard, they asked, "Who can we blame?"

"With thousands of people dead already and as the suffering continues in Haiti, Limbaugh and his ilk only care about one thing: Destroying Obama."

Rush is right..... it was way too fast of a reaction on Obamas part.........who's example could he have followed on his reaction time to a disaster?....hmmm.... I know! -

Governor Blanco was a poor example to follow. She obstructed every day, and misinformed all of us. Thank God he responded like Bush, with the Navy, to some extent. He could better follow Bush's response to the Tsunami in Indonesia. I'm sure GWB is reachable.

why aren't you out there bashing your stupid liberal friends like devnell who are using this tragedy as political fodder? i see....repubs do it = bad, demos do it = good

This is nothing more than the Limbaugh formula at work. Always bash Obama no matter what he does. Find a way to criticize. Slow response, wrong. Fast response, wrong.

Limbaugh has used this formula for 20 years against those he considers political enemies.

Color me unsurprised.

I thought we settled the entire grammar thing?? Were you not paying attention or is it that you actually have nothing usefull to add to the discussion??

Color me unsurprised! I bet it is that you have nothing to add..

In case you haven't figured it out yet - my correction notwithstanding - I'm in agreement with you over this (my sigline should have given you a clue). "Color me unsurprised" was referring to how unsurprised that that jagoff Limbaugh would find another way to get on the the Prez over this.

Rush's and his followers' reactions is why the neo-corporatists and neo-cons must be forced out of the party. They place political power in front of mercy, grace, and social justice.

And Liberals can't seem to help playing the victim.

That is what Rush was trying to point out Jake.

Of course liberals play the victim, mudwhistle, (that's what they do) but that is not the main text of what Rush is saying. He is putting party and belief before a desperate humanitarian crisis. That is despicable to me.

Obama is playing a victim and so is everyone who bitches about anyone who points it out to the rest of us.

Because BHO and crew act they way they do does not excuse us from supporting the relief effort to Haiti. Please tell me that you don't put party and power ahead of your fellow human in true need.

Heavy equipment coming in slow, but getting there. Where are the ground crews digging through the rubble? Where are the locals? 9/11 we had human chains digging through debris, clearing roads, every bit helps. Beats standing around.

Rush is the Leader of the Republican Party! Long Live Rush!

Palin/Limbaugh in 2012!
