Rush Limbaugh

Rush makes some good points at times. He's not off his rocker as so many like to believe. I think it's just jealosy. The guy is an entertainer, a political one, but none the less, an entertainer. You see, sticking to the same line all the time makes gives him his reputation. He would be nothing if he changed his mind on issues all the time. He toes the line even when he might be wrong. Honestly, the guy is a genius. That doesn't make him right all the time, but it does make him a genius.

...some conservatives are even trying to claim the label "classical liberal"! Can you fucking imagine

Imagine what? That US Conservatism is founded directly in; and stands as the purest essence OF: Classic Liberalism?

Your problem is that you are ignorant of what Classic Liberalism is... the etymology of the concept and this due to your education being limited to Leftist indoctrination centers... OKA: Government Schools; as a result you 'feel' EVER SO STRONGLY that 'liberalism' is socialism, collectivism and THAT sis, is wholly antithetical to Classic liberalism...

(Now go ahead and look those up; take all the time ya need to digest their definitions... ROFL... RIGHT! Like you'd bother... Why learn when there are so many cliches from which to choose in building your knee-jerk reaction... RIGHT?)

Well how postively centrist of ya... Rush MUST be wrong some of the times... despite his genius; and WHY? Well it's just not polite to be right ALL the time!

Rush is an entertainer; one with a solid understanding of the bed-rock principles on which the US was founded and he IS a brilliant advocate of those principles... We can readily say that we've disagreed with Rush... but where one would state that he's wrong... it is only polite to state the issue and the basis in reasoning which lead one to such a conclusion. Wouldn't you agree?

I think he makes interesting points from time to time, he is often right in predictions he makes and he's funny. I do think he's too partisan though, I'd like to hear someone like him that is more balanced.

look up Ed Shultz.....he is basically in the middle, but i have heard him many times bad mouth both sides......

Rush is a fat fuck and a hypocrite but he's no idiot.

He's made millions and millions of dollars stirring up contraversy and inflating his ego and as long as his lemmings keep tuning in he aint going anywhere.

He looks interesting, I'm going to see what else I can find. Maybe I can find something to listen to on the web. Thanks for the tip.

Why yes I am somewhat of a centrist, although leaning a bit more to the right than left. I like Rush, even when I disagree with him. My problem with both those on the far right and left, is that they've both hijacked our political perspectives, and because of this, we end up in arguments over what I consider irrelevant side issues rather than legitimate issues that need real attention. This doesn't just go for talking heads on message boards; it includes all of our elected representatives.

Rush is an entertainer ... you can't take ANY of them seriously, he's nothing more than a radio personality and therefore not accurate or factual.

*evil grin*

That's a bit off base also. Just because he is an entertainer doesn't mean that there is no value to what he says. Very few people agree on all issues 100% of the time. That doesn't mean he is right or wrong at any given point; just that his perspective might differ from yours.

ROFLMNAO... ED SHULTZ IS IN THE MIDDLE? This is the disp-Air-America Ed Shultz? The idiot of all idiots, the Bolshevik... Ed Shultz?

ROFLMNAO... Oh GOD! that's precious... Hillary Clinton is a moderate and Ed Shultz is 'in the middle...

I think you're searching for 'hundreds of millions of dollars'... for exposing the ideological left for what it is... a subversive pack of lying fucks who stand to do little more for America, but run it down...

You really are an impressive poster, PI.

I would imagine most people would have a hard time posting while fellating Rush at the same time but not you ...

What a trooper you are!!!

:clap2:

Bah, it was targeted toward those who say the same thing about Penn and Teller, or George Carlin, or any others out there to show they think it only applies to those they disagree with and to show that when they say it they look like fools.

I've been a listener since '92. I was a conservative long before Rush became one, but I do acknowledge that he was precocious in his political education. I've only missed a few shows since my start date, and though I agree with most of what he says, I don't necessarily attach the same weight to issues as he does. I would argue many "minor" points with him; his views on global warming are beyond parody.

I try to be a complete memory record of what he has said over the years to allow me to evaluate the accuracy of those who maliciously misquote or take him out of context. Being a self employed person has allowed me the freedom of wearing a small walkman radio without much distraction.

He has gone through about 5 permutations in his speaking mannerisms, and each time he's corrected and gone on. Increasingly, when he takes a few days off I'm more than happy that someone like Jason Lewis or Dr. Walter Williams stands in. I definitely get bored and frustrated with the “angry” sound, which he (and some others) thinks sounds like “passion”, and the past 2 years he sounds angry a lot. His voice is getting that grunginess that comes from age, and because of his deafness he is unable to realize how he sounds. When he got addicted to pain pills, I knew something was up. By the way, I never in 15 years heard him make any vociferous condemnation of drug addicts, or what punishments they should face. That lack in itself suggested to me that he didn't consider himself beyond giving into a weakness like that one. His most recent permutation is that he is increasingly unaware of the amount of extraneous noise he makes during his daily broadcasts; the crumpling of each memo paper notwithstanding. But, because of his failed hearing, he is unaware of how distractingly unprofessional he is beginning to sound.

When so called "Ditto heads" say "Dittos Rush" they are not saying they agree with everything he says. More, they are saying they are happy to hear someone out there saying what they think and want to hear said. But more specifically they are people who love the show and what he's doing, and hope he never stops doing it.

The term came into use because callers would frequently begin by giving praise and thanks to him during the show. Knowing that the caller’s and listener’s time is valuable, one caller simply said roughly "ditto to what those guys said (how much they enjoyed the show)." Thereafter, callers were encouraged to simply say, “Dittos,” and then get right to their point.

I can't claim to be a "Ditto Head" because I can't say that I have a strong desire for him to stay on. About everything has by now become tiresome; worn out coined words like “sex-ratery” for secretary, the way he says Bob Reich’s name (with the long –schshhh-uh when he finally runs out of breath) at every iteration, the scratching, thumpings, wadding of paper, and on and on have all become clichéd to me to the point of extreme irritation. Once he coins a new word or phrase it is with him forever, and like old jokes they get stale. When he is absent many good stand-in hosts take over and he is in effect allowing the back-benchers a chance at the big national microphone, one of whom will one day take ascendancy.

I’ve sent four or five emails, warning him that he’s losing a large part of his audience, those who hear anger instead of passion.

My summation of Rush is that he is a focal personality in our times like Will Rogers was in his. But Rush has an ability that I've found in no other commenter (which is what he is), and that is his ability for instant recall of political minutia. Because of that I consider him to be a national resource and asset for political information.

I love this. A whole thread of parrots proclaiming Limbaugh an idiot. As I said, it's YOU that keeps him in business. Just knowing he irritates the piss out of you lefties is reason enough to support him.

Fact is, I rarely listen to him, and consider him more of a comedy act than anything else. Fact remains, he wasn't even on the map until you lefties started the collective wailing and gnashing of teeth about him. I had never even heard of him until then.

Joke's on YOU.
