We only have 20,000 troops deployed in south Korea.

North Korea has one of the biggest militaries in the world and would rip through that like a cannon ball.

Trump would be a fool to attempt to attack within the next few days at least.

With 50,000 in Japan. South Korea has another 625000 active duty and over 3 million reserves. Since WWII Japan has had a defensive military only but recently has seemed to be moving away from this strategy. Throw in the overwhelming technological advantage and North Korea doesn't have a fucking chance in hell. The only option is for NK to use its nukes and I don't believe the NK military will follow the order to launch and Kim Jong-un will be assassinated by his own people.

If you can get close. They have decades of protecting this dynasty.
If Kim fall the rest of his cronies around him will also crumble giving up lifetime of luxurious living. So I'm not sure if this is possible unless someone from the inner circle will go rouge.
