The US is preparing to attack North Korea, according to Geopolitical Futures founder George Friedman — setting the stage for a difficult, messy war with potentially catastrophic consequences. Speaking Monday to a rapt audience at the 2017 Strategic Investment Conference in Orlando, Friedman said that while it was unlikely the US would take action

RUMORS OF WAR: US attack on North Korea imminent?

Well if it were Kimmy boy I'd say here we go again, but if it us that attacks first oooooh boy .

snd then there is this going on too

Hawaii Is Preparing a New Nuclear Contingency Plan Because of North Korea

(Reported By Sarah Emerson) FOIA documents show the Hawaii Department of Defense is about to revamp its emergency plans for a nuclear missile attack. Growing…

We only have 20,000 troops deployed in south Korea.

North Korea has one of the biggest militaries in the world and would rip through that like a cannon ball.

Trump would be a fool to attempt to attack within the next few days at least.
No just like a cannonball. If Trump attacks they´ll have to go through a minefield and the artillery, of which both Koreas have plenty of, will rain shells on them nonstop. North Korea has the largest and most powerful artillery pieces and their job will be done in hours.

Ummm.... nope. North Korea has a very large army in terms of personnel, but modern warfare is about much more than a battle of numerical moving boots. The logistical challenges of moving significant numbers of troops, especially given the poor equipment and training, would be daunting especially since their air defense network would be rendered useless within days.

North Korea could indeed push into South Korea, but their losses would be massive and it would be far from a cannon ball. Most of the effectiveness of North Korea would probably come from their artillery corps, and that would also quickly suffer massive attrition.

North Korea can move troops quickly underground. In addition, the units can operate completely independent. Everything´s underground from storage to hideouts or energy supply and factories. No doubt, Trump would launch a second Vietnam, the more so as the North Korean tunnels in Vietnam were jokes compared to these in North Korea.

Yep, they would use the many undiscovered underground tunnels but that only gets them so far, and you aren't moving a million man army underground. Any serious push into South Korea they would suffer withering losses and would have insurmountable logistical challenges.

I doubt that North Korea would give up on its defensive positions to enter South Korea. The land is not big and they can target in South Korea whatever they want. The point is that Trump cannot do so much with his two carriers. Maybe, he is just intending to hit some targets, go away and bring in the glory.

I remember the ROK (Republic of Korea) Marines in Vietnam and they were tough to say in the least.

Agreed. If the US committed airstrikes in North Korea (presumably against ballistic missile or nuclear weapon facilities) what would probably happen would be heavy artillery/rocket response from North into South.

The US just recently moved THAAD missile batteries into South Korea which are designed to shoot down ballistic missiles. Fat Kimmy does not have a snowball's chance in Hell.

I hope so. We need a good war. I'm in the mood for a good ass-kicking. The USA fights a war with technology. Troops only go in afterwards to mop up. If Trump does it, I hope he does it right and just takes the whole regime out, quick and neat. They can sell the glass beads on Amazon.

THAAD was designed to shoot down high altitude ballistic missiles but not low flying missiles like scuds or artilleries with range of 10 to 20 miles. Seoul is only 35 miles from the DMZ.
US deployed Patriots battery missiles early 2016 in S.Korea but numbers are limited compared to shooting down very large number artilleries.
That's right. Kimmy don't stand a chance but casualties on both side will be in millions.

This. THAAD isn't for rocket artillery, it wouldn't be of much relevance in a conventional conflict.

It will be a bad news if Trump will launch even just a single cruise missile against NK. It will be very bloody. This in not Syria or Iraq that you can just dropped a bomb, go home and forget the consequences.
Last week Kim launched another 2 test missiles -------- NOW WHAT?
If Trump doesn't do anything after sending an impressive armada ------- The world will view this as BLUFFING.

North Korea’s latest launch heralds mass production of “cold launch” missiles

if NK sent thousands of artilleries toward SK ------- THAAD is worthless.
War with NK is not that simple than what people think. I can assure you that China and Russia will not just watch and sit idle.
Like one member mentioned here I will be like another Vietnam.

There isn't one of you who has posted on this thread that knows what you're talking about. Good thing is, I know where to come and get fertilizer for my garden now.

I´d rather consider Trump´s missile fart as a sign of desperate weakness. And of course, it was part of the deadly theater that ringed in Trumps new Syria policy. I also think that the North Korean leadership is quite smart. If Trump just launches another show for the masses and goes away, North Korea won´t do anything about it. A war is an all-in war for North Korea.
