Rubio Bill Lets ANY Employer Deny Birth Control Coverage

Soon libs will want insurance to cover sports drinks, vitamins, comestic surgery, etc.

Hell, anything someone wants from a health care/fitness perspective will be covered so some lazy ass person doesn't have to take care of their own needs.

Just another attack from the right on us middle class and/or poor people by the top 1%. They don't want to pay so they want women to have to pay $800 a year out of pocket.

Typical. I know that doesn't seem like a lot to Romney but....

Do you really think this is going to win you votes?

Hey dip shit...........

Why should anyone other then the user pay?

Cost are out of control, now suddenly people that can afford insurance cant afford 30+ dollars a month.

Get a fucking clue!!!!

What they want is life without consequence, and unable to create that Utopia, settle for someone else, anyone, other than themselves, their relations, their friends, getting stuck with cleaning up the mess and paying the bill. You know.... Suckers.

You got it backward. Stop paying for poor people's contraceptives and it will be YOU who is stuck paying the bill. Welfare, foodstamps, etc.

You republicans are insane. You want to force poor people to have kids but then you cut off welfare? What kind of monsters are you?

Preventative medicine. Preventing poor people from having more kids. I approve. Lets cover that. Makes sense.

Uh idiot, I'm in the upper middle class....I pay more in taxes than you.

I don't think anyone should get birth control via insurance, I thought that is what PlannedParenthood is for. If someone wants free birth control stuff go down to your local left-wing baby killer clinic and get a condom. :eusa_whistle:

Don't throw another cost on top of insurance companies then whine that they are raising their rates to cover those costs, dumbfuck.

If we don't pay now we will pay more later. You righties aren't smart enough to grasp this.

True in some cases, false in others straw man.

What are you righties trying to achieve? More poor people to fight your wars or more poor people to delute the job market.

Stop trying to get more people who don't want kids to have them.

Ha ha ha ha ha! This years GOP catch phrase used once again. Straw man. Everythings argument they don't like is a strawman. Same old gop playbook. Love it!

Idiot your left-wing baby killer clinics can give out the FREE stuff, not insurance companies. You idiots want to help these "poor" people, well then do it.

Quit telling others (rich people/taxpayer and insurance companies) to pay for your utopian, uneducated, and inefficient views on how to maintain society.

Your argument does not justify Genocide. You are so worried about the abuse of Public Services? Start with Border and Immigration Control. ;)

Is there any level you won't stoop to to avoid buying your own condoms? Another trick question. ;)

Still not getting why government should force feed birth control "insurance" on employees when they could just buy it with the damn wage they earn which as result is going to be that much less. And in fact much less because insurance adds to the cost.

It's like having insurance for band aids. Welcome 100 dollar band aids (condoms). Also if it is only for women they will be discriminated against as it costs more to employ them.

How is it fair that those who don't even have sex pay for others as they are forced into this not needed insurance plan? And no I am not referring to religious reasons which as atheists I don't give a butt about.

This is seriously the silliest thing I have ever heard. I live in "socialist" country with "free" health care and yet we can't actually understand how birth control has anything what so ever to do with health care. Nor do I understand how you can call it insurance. How can you take insurance against something that you plan for and wilfully do? That's called a plan, not an insurance... What next? Car insurance that orders you a taxi when ever you need one?

Seriously where did this BS come from - don't they REALLY have anything better to do in washington?

Well have a nice day filling paper work when buying a pack condoms... As I said I am atheist but.... Jesus Christ this is dumb.

This plan is very pro male so I wonder why someone call it good for women. First they will be discriminated against as the insurance will cost to employer, they will thus be FORCED to pay for birth control indirectly. Men pay nothing as women have the insurance. If women get pregnant they will be fully responsible while male will be completely free of any responsibility.

Are you daft?

The right keeps talking about liberty and freedom as if it's disappearing, and the next thing we know, Republicans want to give employers the power to interfere in the reproductive choices of their employees, and you guys don't seem to see a problem with that. What's wrong with you people?

That's fucking retarded.... by an employer choosing to not pay for contraception your reproductive rights are being infringed upon?

How fucking stupid is that? Go buy some condoms.. they're pretty cheap. Problem solved. God you libs are fucking needy.

The employers in these cases are interfering in the relationship between the insurance companies and his employees because of the employers' personal views. It's none of his damn business.
Incorrect.
The employer buys insurance coverage from a carrier. Therefore, coverage of certain kinds can be added or eliminated in order to adjust the premium based on the employer's ability or willingness to pay.

Last time I checked, it was the employer who determined what the insurance coverages for employer sponsored health insurance would be... not the employee.

I've never heard of a single case of an employer who had the right to dictate to an insurance company what they could or could not offer as far as coverage. That's not surprising since he doesn't own or run the insurance company and has no standing to interfere with their business.
They don't.. The employer seeks out the best deal for their employee insurance coverage.
Most insurance policies do not cover for birth control.
They should not. Birth control is a choice.
Would you expect an insurance company to pay for condoms or diaphragms?

Insurance,in its premise,is supposed to be a means to help with medical episodes that are out of the control of people, not self inflicted uncontrolled behaviors,or the end result of such.again, the entitlement society pushes on,instead of people exercising just a little bit of personal responsibility.

What's the sensible alternative to using birth control?

Abstinence.

Think about the concept of "birth control coverage" for a minute. We aren't talking about injuries or accidents resulting in loss of work time. We are talking about birth control pills and other stuf. Doesn't any freaking intelligent American realize that women can chose not to have sex or (God forbid) buy their own freaking birth control drugs without forcing the American taxpayer to foot the bill?

Viagra is covered in most health insurance...let's cut that too (no pun intended)

Our health insurance does no cover "sexual enhancements" of any kind.
Pay for your own 4 hour woody.

The people who receive this coverage receive it as part of their compensation for doing WORK.

It is PAY in a form other than money. At least try to understand that much of this.

If the employer chooses to buy insurance which covers this, that is their choice.
The government decision creates a mandate that it MUST be covered.
That is unjust.

I refuse to pay for the irresponsibility of others,as i encourage others to do the same.if i make a behavior gaffe in this lifetime,ITS MY PROBLEM,MY RESPONSIBILITY,not anyone elses.

What do you think group coverage is all about anyway? The premiums of everyone essentially pay for the treatments of the smaller number of people who get injured or sick even if they overeat, or don't exercise, or are generally careless.
And that type coverage( lifestyle choice) is being examined. For example North Carolina State workers are now charged more if they smoke, are overweight or make other unhealthy choices.
Obama care will eventually do the same.

Instead of filling huge paper work and paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars, I go to store and buy a pack of condoms for much less time and money. Why would I go through the paper work and cost when the darned pack of condoms I am planning to use can be bought straight up over the counter? It's not like having sex in an emergency accident that costs thousands of dollars to treat (Unless you are into really weird stuff- but I bet the health insurance covers that).

This is truly great for the pro-male republicans. Divorced dads no longer need to look after kids as it truly was the women's fault. This could well be the next step. Why should guys care anymore?

not paying for birth control =/= *interfering* with reproductive choices of employes

are you this stupid in real life?

Sure it is. Contraceptives are routinely provided by health care plans. For an employer to try to remove that coverage, which actually costs less than the cost of pregnancy (including maternity leave), or to try to get the legal right to do so, is, in fact, interference in the relationship between the employee and the insurance company.
The employer does not "remove" coverage. The employer seeks out the type of coverage it finds useful to the employees yet is affordable to the company.
If an employer finds that the best deal is coverage without a birth control rider, it is THEIR right to do so.
