Romney will be the GOP nominee

The way to ensure that Romney replaces Our Kenyan President is to get him (Romney) to run in a Democrat Primary. Then he'd get the liberal democrat and RINO votes to win in a landslide.

Walks like a liberal, talks like a liberal, carpetbagged like a liberal, prototyped National (Socialistic) Health Care.....

Has anyone ever told you that sometimes you don't make any sense? :eusa_whistle:

I could see how that might not make sense to anyone who didn't live under Romney's near socialist regime in Massachusetts. Such a sheltered life!

Romney will be the GOP nominee.

Perry is too extreme for the general election.

Romney is the best candidate anyway.

whatever you are smoking, can you send me some?

How come nobody ever frets that the Democrats are nominating someone "too extreme" when they nominate a socialist like Obama or a flag burner like Kerry or Clinton or an Eco- whackjob like Al Gore?

Romney will not be the nominee for the following reasons.

1) MOrmonism. 22% of the electorate, including 19% of Republicans, will not vote for a Mormon. Polls have born this out again and again. More importantly, the Evangelicals consider Mormons to be outright heretics. nominate Romney, you will get a third party that will split the vote.

2) Too Liberal- His record speaks for itself. The guy created what would become ObamaCare, has supported gun control, abortion rights and gay rights. Do you ever wonder why liberals don't have a big issue with Romney, at least not right now?

3) Doesn't connect with people- This has always been his problem. He comes off as aloof, robotic and kind of looks like "The Guy who Lays you off" as Huckabee said.

4) Sleazy Business practices- He has a whole record of laying people off. If Perry doesn't hit him on this during the primaries, Obama will KILL him on it during the general.

5) A sure fire loser.- Romney lost three out of the four elections he's run in. He hasn't been a "Career Politician", but isn't for a lack of trying, it's for a lack of winning.

Romney came off as the clear winner in the GOP debates in the Reagan Library.

Was polished and presidential.

It was Perrys first time on the national stage.

A clear-cut win fo rRomney.

Maybe Perry can redeem himself in future debates.

Romney is formidable. I was impressed.

I'm sorry, if doing well in debates makes you a good president, then Obama would be carved in MOunt Rushmore right now.

Debates aren't governing. Debates are a silly show put on for the benefit of the media so they can take one or two sound bites.

Compare the two men and their records in running smaller versions of the Federal Government.

Romney was rolled by the Democratic Legislature at every oppurtunity, pretty much let Ted Kennedy shove socialized medicine down the state's throat that has caused doctors to flee the state. He quit after one term because polls showed the Democrat beating him by double digits. His job creation rate was below the national average.

Perry was elected to three terms. He has made tough decisions, kept his state solvant, (Texas still has a triple A rating while the country has been downgraded to AA+) and has produced 40% of the new jobs during this recession.

Lets see what happens.

Romney is impressive.

Is presidential and has gravitas.

What exactly is impressing you? What does 'polished and presidential' even mean?

Romney just has the "it" factor.

Like he is comfortable in the arena.

Everybody thinks he "won" the first debate.

Now a 2 person race.

And you're willing to guide the future of your nation based on that? Really??

I think the bottom line question is going to be - who do the Koch Brothers choose? Because they will funnel unlimited wealth to that person, and said person will get the nomination.

Then if you think that, whoever the Koch brothers choose will be the President as well.

I think there's a Koch brother hiding under your bed.
