Romney polling better than Obama in IL?

I suspect the rationale behind him losing is accurate; downstaters have to be fed up with the crap flowing out of Chicago; it doesn't represent their values .... At all. what they see is so out of phase with their values that even his claim to be a son of Illinois is blatantly false. He's a Chicago politician, and little else. The probably would like to see this evil quashed and they can help get it done, even some of the not-so-downstate (Will/Joliet for one) counties might rebel.

What if the Chicago machine is discouraged by the lack of an economic turnaround? How do you think that would effect the results in the state?

That has been made more apparent and brought to contrast by the way Mitch Daniels was able to put Indiana into the best environment for business in the Midwest and get the state's budget balanced after 12 years of Dem rule. Don't forget how Bill Daley was used and discarded. Also the deal making for O's senate seat and another dethroned governor. Pile on with stagnant economic growth compared to Indiana and Wisconsin, both undoing the democrat damage and his defeat seems a good possibility. Illinois, even Chicagoland has been stung by Obama.

No more amazing than your source.

It ain't happening.

Who is arguing Obama will absolutely lose Chicago? DUMBASS.

Just entertaining the idea is idiotic in and of itself. Oh, and it's the whole state of Illinois, not just Chicago. DIPSHIT.

Yeah. Absolutely crazy to think a candidate might lose his home state. We all know how home states always support the candidate in question. And Al Gore was President in 2000.

If a poll shows Chicago within 10 points and the rest of the state is red; then how can one not entertain the notion? Oh__ I forgot__ in dilhole Dem land they think they own you once you give them you're vote. SORRY MASS'AH!

Yea, as long as Republicans want us "in chains" then we can just make sure we keep voting Dem no matter how much they f us over. Sorry bro, but we're an open tent party and we won't accept the nonsense.

Oh, you're accepting plenty of batshit stuff already, and you can keep it.

Yea? What party/admin is giving us a huge debt? Check and Mate.

It's not that Romney is leading......

This poll was taken only in Cook Co where the O was leading Mitt by 49 to 37. That's a very slim lead when you consider the demographics of IL. What struck me immediately is that in this county, the O should have been leading by WELL over 50%. He won Cook Co in '08 by almost 75% which helped him overcome the rest of IL which is rural and mostly Pubs.

So this poll tends to lead one to the conclusion that, should these figures not improve drastically, the O really could lose IL.

The last paragraph tells you what is happening.

According to the poll, which surveyed 629 registered voters last week, Obama’s problems are not in Chicago proper, but in suburban Cook County.

Don't forget the crime; crime and murder goes up in Chicago while it's headed down in other major US cities. Crime in Chicago has to be a function of the destruction of the family there, where 70% of black mothers are unwed, and extremely high (you know the numbers) unemployment for black adult males, and astronomical for black youths. Should a problem like that have gotten better or worse with a black president in office? Has hope been lost in the city? How do they react to that whole failure in the burbs?

Bush and the republicans. That was easy. Way to paint yourself into a corner.
