Romney: No need to detail how I’ll pay for massive tax cuts. Just trust me. - The Plum Line - The Washington Post

There’s a great deal to chew on in Mitt Romney’s interview with Bob Schieffer, which just aired on CBS.

Romney repeatedly refused to say whether he’d repeal Obama’s order to halt deportations of DREAM-eligible youth. He confirmed that he would not agree to even one dollar in new revenues in exchange for 10 dollars in spending cuts. And he again reiterated that his response to the crisis would be to cut government, in order to “ignite growth,” even though economists say that more austerity now would make the crisis worse.

here's the truth,, he'll be a damn sight better than the currernt asswipe.

LOL, I can't believe how stupid you people are.
All you do is listen and blindly follow instead of asses and learn.

Not happy? You won't even think about how it could be worse if we made other choices and you refuse to learn from the mistakes from others.

None of us deserve Democracy because we are too fucking stupid. It's astounding at how much political ignorance there is and all you happen to do is spread the stupidity.

Nobody is buying your faux outrage. :

'Romney endorses Ryan budget

I'm very supportive of the Ryan budget plan. It's a bold and exciting effort on his part and on the part of the Republicans and it's very much consistent with what I put out earlier. I think it's amazing that we have a president who three and a half years in still hasn't put a proposal out that deals with entitlements. This president's dealing with entitlement reform -- excuse me -- this budget deals with entitlement reform, tax policy, which as you know is very similar to the one that I put out and efforts to reign in excessive spending. I applaud it. It's an excellent piece of work and very much needed.'

Romney won't detail his plan because the only way his 'plan' would work is if there were to be enormous, draconian, politically suicidal cuts in

Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

If Romney were to be honest about his plan, he might as well preface it by saying,

...these are reasons I don't want to be president...

First of all, it's a proven fact that anyone who releases any details comes under attack.

Secondly, I think it would be important for the person in the Oval Office to release his plan, wouldn't it? I mean his job is to fix this shit, isn't it? It's already been proved that taxing the rich isn't gonna scratch the surface. Obama needs to show us his plan......not sit back and make fun of the opposition's plans. But that's all he ever does. He's a pro at being a smart-ass, talking smack about his opponent, but never coming up with real solutions himself.

Thirdly, it doesn't matter who is in charge. The damage that has been done is going to require severe measures and the sooner we start the better. However, it's clear Obama has no intention of doing anything about the debt.....at least not before the election. That is a piss-poor statement on his presidency.

Here's the situation; Regardless who wins cuts are going to effect everyone. Once Obama has 4 more years he's gonna raise our taxes, cut the military, claim that many of his promises were a bit too ambitious. He's going to do some really unpopular things. He has to. You're gonna discover new taxes in your pay-stub that weren't there before. He will allow the Bush tax-cuts to expire and he will institute a new tax on top of the already wired in increases. He will tax us on his health care program whether the supremes rule it unconstitutional or not because that is another legal battle in itself.

If Romney wins cuts will come. Course he won't care if people are pissed about it because he knows they have to be done or Social Security and Medicare will fail. The government will have to make deep cuts. The media will attempt to crucify him. Obama will go on a speaking tour telling everyone how right he was about Romney. However, we will be in much better hands than with the current WH resident.

Romney wants to cut everyone's taxes by 20% and increase spending on the military, for starters. That creates its own deficit right there, before he's even gotten to the current deficit.

Now he has 2 deficits to pay for with cuts. Where do those cuts come from?

He's not going to cut taxes till we get a surplus.

The military is already prepared for more defense cuts. We've been bracing for it for a couple of years.

The left calls a tax cut that is already in effect another tax cut.

Guess what........they're lying.

Yup. Hope and change carried the day.

The sad thing is that most of his supporters think he's doing a good job. Apparantly the UE numbers and the crappy economy don't seem to mean much. I mean with another 4yrs he'll get er done.

Of course he stated that if he couldn't get er done in one term than he didn't deserve another.

I think we should hold him to his word.

Who are you kidding? People like you wouldn't be voting for President Obama if UE were down to 4%.

Thats where your wrong dude. If Barry had come in and gotten the economy rolling and UE down to your 4% then I'd be on his bandwagon and shouting his praises to the rooftops.

Unfortunately that didn't happen because Barry's policies haven't worked. Big surprise.

Unlike you I call a loser a loser when I see one. This guys a clueless loser.

It makes me laugh how the left, who voted for Obama in their droves... and who had no detailed plans, no experience, nothing except pretty speeches to go on... and that was smart. Now, suddenly, they need 'details'.

No detailed plans? You may have been a low information voter in 2008, but that doesn't mean Obama (and virtually all of the Democrats running for president, for that matter) didn't unveil detailed policy platforms. With numbers, even.

it's time for the government to tighten it's belt. When times are hard you have to make cuts. It's time for everybody to live within their means.

Turns out most of the numbers were wrong. They made assumptions that don't work in reality and based their numbers off of them.

States with lower taxes beat states with high taxes for growth. Period.
As to Romney, why should he lay out every detail? Just keep it simple, like Hope n Change.

My, my. Really researched this before you posted your usual nonsense, right, Rabid?

Do Lower Taxes Create Jobs? Let

How higher taxes affect personal income

The Tax Foundation, a respected conservative-leaning group, has analyzed tax issues since 1937. They publish reports showing the average income and average tax load for all 50 states. Their analysis includes all state and local taxes.

I've charted this data (below) and added a green line to separate the states with high incomes from the rest. Aside from a few outliers, the trend is obvious: All but one of the states that enjoy higher incomes (greater than $50,000 per person) also impose higher total taxes (above 9 percent). At the same time, all but one of the states that keep taxes low (less than 9 percent) have lower incomes.

You bet. By God, it is time you red states got off the tit, and we in the liberal blue states get to keep our hard earned. So shovel the beer cans from in front of the door to your single wide, and go get a job.

As for the Romney stuff, I don't care. Have fun with your future wrongdoing.

14,500 teachers, cops, and firefighters were laid off when Romney was governor.

Shit, that's nothing.

Under Obama, in the public sector - including federal, state, and local governments - 600,000 jobs have been lost.
