Mitt Romney Denies Criticizing Palestinian Culture

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney says he wasn't criticizing Palestinian culture at a fundraiser in Jerusalem on Monday.

Palestinian officials accused the Republican presidential candidate of racism for suggesting that culture helps explain the economic disparity between Israelis and Palestinians

On Tuesday, Romney told Fox News that he wasn't specifically talking about Palestinian culture and doesn't plan to during the campaign.

He's downplaying a series of perceived missteps and instead blaming the media. Romney says reporters are more interested in "finding something to write" than about reporting on the economy and national security threats.

Romney prompted angry headlines across England last week when he questioned London's readiness for the Olympics.

He says the media is trying to "divert from the fact that these last four years have been tough years for our country."

Why do liberals always defend killers and nutjobs!

Why can't the Republican party nominate a candidate for POTUS that can make a statement without then having to send out surrogates to make a "what he really meant to say was" rebuttal? -pewsh!-

good grief, a cartoon offends these people...yet here you are defending them and putting down Romney

What an idiot Willard is. Only the GOP could nominate someone so dumb.

yet, you guys nominated and elected Obama the man who says there are over 57 states and who thinks Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel.

Oh and Mitt didnt criticize their culture. He merely pointed out that different cultures produce different outcomes. Which is a bit of a no-brainer. He didnt comment at all on any aspects of the Palestinian culture.

How do you equate telling the Jews they do well because of their Culture with Putting down Palestinian Culture? He was making a very Valid point, that the Freedom and Openness of Israeli Culture is a big part of why they Prosper.

So Romney is not denying saying what he said, he is defending against people like you who are trying to Re-define what he said into something else.

Besides why are you upset about someone denying they said what they said? Obama does that almost constantly lately.

Obama camp denies POTUS said ‘if you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that’

Right up until the moment their own video proved he DID say it...

President Obama’s campaign managed to deny that he said “if you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that” in a campaign video that replayed a clip of the president saying that at a campaign stop in Virginia on Saturday.

“That’s not what he said,” the video declares in response to Mitt Romney quoting the president’s remarks. To contradict Romney, the Obama campaign replays this line: “If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help; there was a great teacher somewhere in your life.”

Viewers have to wait another 20 seconds for the Obama campaign to acknowledge the words that, as Romney pointed out, he did say. “Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that,” Obama is heard saying.

So by Romney complimenting the Israelis, the Palestinians get to cry "racism"? Someone get Al and Jesse ready for a trip to the ME so they can protest.

Romney clarifies his culture remark (but Gingrich had his back from the get-go)

“Culture makes all the difference,” Mr. Romney said. “And as I come here and I look out over this city and consider the accomplishments of the people of this nation, I recognize the power of at least culture and a few other things.”

He added, “As you come here and you see the G.D.P. per capita, for instance, in Israel, which is about $21,000, and compare that with the G.D.P. per capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority, which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically stark difference in economic vitality. And that is also between other countries that are near or next to each other. Chile and Ecuador, Mexico and the United States.”

Gingrich sticks by Palestinian comment
, draws rebukes from GOP candidates

"Suddenly" yeah..he is..

Three countries..and he managed to blow it completely in two of them.

And the one he didn't blow it at..he kept the press far away from him. To the point where his surrogates were all hissy at them.

His American CEO schtick isn't going to make it on the world stage. Think dubya without the charm.

Mitt was right. Arabs have essentially contributed nothing to the world since Muhammed fucked his first goat.

Well, that is unless you think suicide bombing is a good thing....

Well lessee, I gotta ask the Republicans on this M/B, was Romney just funnin' when he talked to Foxtainment, or was he just funnin' when he told his foreign bribers: "At the fundraiser today at the King David hotel in Jerusalem, Romney said, “As you come here and you see the GDP per capita, for instance, in Israel which is about $21,000, and compare that with the GDP per capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority, which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically stark difference in economic vitality.”?

If Romney wasn't talking about Palestinian Authority then Romney needs to hire an interpretation servant to interpret Romneyspeak into American or-----or continue to walk back a statement or three seemingly - every friggin' day.

Question: Is Romney delusional?

Palestinian reaction to 9/11

So should we care if they get their feelings hurt?

"As you come here and you see the G.D.P. per capita, for instance, in Israel, which is about $21,000, and compare that with the G.D.P. per capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority, which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically stark difference in economic vitality. So comparing economic realities between two countries, is really just an attack on one countries culture?

Really?

Was he attacking Chile or Ecuador? Mexico or the US?

Dumb asses, the lot of you.
