Taxpayer protections were strengthened then--then the loan guarantee was approved in March 2009 by the exact same committee that was in place during January 2009-------what happened, taxpayer protections were strengthened, that's what happened.

Wrong, they did so as part of the stimulus signed by Obama. the law enacted by Bush actually requires that applicants for loans meet certain standards and go through a process that takes a few months, the stimulus only requires that they show up needing money.
