Gen. William Boykin can espouse his racist rants elsewhere but not here representing America's finest.

U.S. News - 'Extremist' speaker withdraws from West Point event after protests

West Point issued a brief statement late Monday saying that retired Lt. Gen. William Boykin has decided to withdraw from speaking at the Feb. 8 prayer breakfast and another speaker would be lined up in his place.

The Army is drawing protests from veterans’ and Islamic groups for inviting a retired general who many have called anti-Muslim to speak at a West Point prayer breakfast.

Lt. Gen William G. Boykin has been criticized for speeches at evangelical Christian churches in which he made disparaging remarks about Islam. Boykin has said that Muslims are trying to implement Shariah Law in the United States and that Islam is the greatest threat America faces...

He sounds just like many of the rightwing nitwits who post on this forum.

Troubling that the military would tolerate someone so ignorant and hateful – now that he’s no longer ‘serving,’ let’s hope there are no more like him.

The military is infested with the likes of Lt. Gen William G. Boykin unfortunately. They will come out of the cracks as opportunities arise.

"Boykin has said that Muslims are trying to implement Shariah Law in the United States and that Islam is the greatest threat America faces."

Sounds like simple reality to me but I guess there are many in denial.

WRONG!

In interviews, American Muslims say they reject separate ‘sharia’ law system

A new study based on interviews with more than 200 North American Muslims concludes that a recent spate of state laws banning "sharia law" from the court system may be an overreaction to a non-existent threat.

Oklahoma, Tennessee and Louisiana each passed laws or referendums to ban state judges from considering sharia and other foreign laws last year, and more than 20 other states have debated similar legislation. Newt Gingrich has called for a federal law to ban sharia, while his fellow Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has said sharia law is an "existential threat" to America.

The qualitative study, by University of Windsor law professor Julie MacFarlane and published by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding think tank, is the first to ask American Muslims what they think of sharia, or Islamic religious law. MacFarlane interviewed 101 Muslim men and women, 41 imams and 70 community leaders and specialists about their uses of Islamic law in everyday life. (About a quarter of the respondents live in Canada, but MacFarlane found no significant difference between the Canadian and American responses.)

MacFarlane asked the respondents whether they thought American courts should apply Islamic law to non-Muslims in the legal system. All of them said no.

Miss this?:

"The study's sample was not random, and MacFarlane's findings are not generalizable to the American Muslim community as a whole."

Wrong question anyway. A legal system other than the one we have that is binding on anyone is not acceptable in this Country.

Do you think arbitration should be illegal?

Islam isn't a race. The last time I checked, it's a religion. Someone who criticizes religion isn't a racist. More than likely, that makes you a liberal. that is, so long as the religion you criticize is Christianity.

I was wondering when someone would point out the elephant in the room. Im surprised it took this long for someone to realize that Islam isnt a race.

The Qu'ran encourages Muslims to lie to infidels if it advances the cause of Islam. You know that, don't you?

No, it doesn't.

Feel free to link to the relevant passage.

“As the essential principle of his [Muhammad’s] faith is the subjugation of others by the sword; it is only by force, that his false doctrines can be dispelled, and his power annihilated.”

John Quincy Adams, Son of founding father John Adams and sixth president of the United States of America

Yep, this problem with Islam is a new deal all right.

Ought to hear what Thomas Jefferson had to say about the Mohammedan. I'd say this general is pretty tame...and probably ON POINT.
