Someone tell me how this policy of seperation of chuch and state in America has been successful given our current social state of affairs here across the board.

I'm not lobbying for official recognition of 1 religion as the state religion but rather to quit pussyfooting around and endorse the friggin ideals such as the ten commandments. We go out of our way to keep this crap seperate that its no wonder we live in the current state America is in.

There is a separation of church and state because the Constitution of the United States guarantees freedom of religion. That is why there is no "state" religion.
That is what always confuses me about extreme conservatives. How can they howl about the unjustness of Arabic countries forcing people to be Muslims, when they want to force everyone here to be Christians?

The world is a very diverse place. People worship God in a great variety of ways. Doesn't matter if His name is God, Buddah or Allah. The principles of Hindu, Shinto, Anglican, Morman and various other beliefs are basically the same.

Quit being narrow minded and accept the diversity of all cultures.

How does freedom of religion led to an escalation of violent crime?

And I read and understood your initial post. Obviously you didn't.

Seperation of church and state lead to secular values which lead to our current shithole here. Are you going to argue that siocially Americis not a shithole and that seperation of church and state is a good thing?

Take your socialist wares to another shop little girl.

The ideals of the 10 commandments are well represented in our laws. Are you suggesting letting the state and federal governments legislate morality too?

Recent polls tell us that America is one of the most reilgious countries on earth, so the notion that a "separation of church and state" is the root of all evil in America is patently absurd.

So, to answer your question, America is not a social pesthole. For that you need to travel to a US 'ally' like Uzbekistan or Pakistan. And yes, the separation of church and state is a good thing. History is replete with the attrocities committed by the many and varied theocracies that have sprung up and, mercifully, died over time. A recent case was in Taliban controlled Afghanistan, which we spiked.

There is no such thing as "separation of church and state" per se. Our Constitution just prevents the "establishment" of religion.

Religious expression is a freedom under the Constitution.
Religious expression should be expressed at will in the public square, our schools, our Congress, or anywhere, anytime in a FREE country.

We are LOSING our freedom of religion and our free speech due to the ACLU communists forcing their version of "separation of church and state" upon us.
