Rich Get Richer, Thanks To Stimulus

6.) Sarbanes-Oxley Act which cost American companies $1.2 trillion.

You have a problem with a law that requires companies to be responsible and fully disclose their financial positions? :cuckoo:

SOX is probably one of the best things to come out of the last administration, you nimwit.

Didn't you say you wanted to be an accountant? You're off to a terrible start. Sarbanes-Oxley is the backbone to modern accounting and current trends in financial reporting. You may as well go ahead and say that XBRL and the IASB are a waste of our money too, idiot.

very good......i bet you can come up with 22 for clinton if you just think hard......

i particulary like number 19....and how it relates to clinton.......i have one for you.....who did scooter libbey work for before bush.......

My favorite part about Robert's list is how many of the points were related to each other. For instance, "invading Iraq" and "lying about WMD's" are one and the same, yet it's mentioned about three times in his list.

because robert is a partisan hack

Since the left has no problems with 'special interests', I think the cries of 'Halliburton' are officially over. It's just the nature of politics, got it.

[quoteBut under the new bill, companies like Charter Communications will be able to avoid paying taxes on forgiven debt until 2014. Even then, Paul will have until 2018 to pay it completely off. ][/quote]

So the bill will help businesses in a time of economic hard times. Wow! what a terrible thing to do. This owner benefits, so we should tell all business to screw off and then have them lay off more people.

Please, from the party that always favors the rich, don't play this piece of crap as anything but more blatant right wing elephant shit.

The monkey is doing such a fine job!!

Nobody sees a problem with this statement? :eusa_eh:
i guess you missed thew "white pride" avatar he used to have

no one bothered with it because its expected of someone like him
yet you gave him more notice than he deserved

And yet its so funny how many racist remarks I read on the board and I can get away with now that its changed!!
... and Im the one that's stupid ... lol

ya but what are you going to do some people are stupid.....didn't they used todraw bush as a chimp?.....maybe it is a president thing....

After awhile, yes because the amount of stupid actions that Bush took. Obviously it isn't the same here.

And for this thread, of course some people are going to become rich/richer due to this plan. Just like all the rich became richer during the Reagan years when the tax rate dropped from 70% to 29%.

Obviously it IS the same. Quit trying to make more of something than is there.

and people became rich under clinton because of his tax cuts......every president makes stupid decissions....bush made no more than anyone else has.....but it is all a matter of perspective......and luck....

Actually, Bush had more mistakes then any president since Carter; even more; and history will judge him as such.

Wrong answer.

name five mistakes bush made and five clinton made......

Five Clinton Mistakes:

1.) Lying about Monica and causing the whole impeachment process because he thought with his small head and not his big one.

2.) The beginning of deregulation of Wall Street.

3.) His bombing of a Shifa factory which he thought was a weapons factory.

4.) Not doing what I consider enough about Osama Bin Laden.

5.) Don't ask, Don't tell/NAFTA

Bush Mistakes:

1.) Mismanagement of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

2.) Invading Iraq.

3.) Mismanagement of Katrina.

4.) Making NCLB and then cutting funding for it.

5.) Cutting counter-terrorism funding on 9/11 and then reducing the amount the FBI wanted after 9/11.

6.) Sarbanes-Oxley Act which cost American companies $1.2 trillion.

7.) Little to nothing done on both Alternative Energy and Global Warming.

8.) Rummy as Chief of Staff

9.) John Ashcroft and then later on Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General along with the whole lawyer scandal.

10.) Helping Wall Street become further deregulated under his watch.

11.) Doing nothing about Osama Bin Laden before 9/11 despite the intelligence being there.

12.) Trying to appoint Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

13.) Not implementing the Kyoto Protocol.

14.) Trying to stop the 9/11 Commission and later stopping the 9/11 Commission from doing their full job.

15.) Bailing out the banks Unregulated.

16.) Endorsing the Federal Marriage Amendment despite opposing Roe V Wade.

17.) Handling of the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

18.) Lying to the American Public about WMDs.

19.) Trying to outsource U.S. Port Security to Dubai.

20.) Threatening to veto and eventually pressuring Congress to stop the Matthew Shepard Act.

21.) Being the first President to not meet with the NAACP since guess who...Herbert Hoover.

22.) Destroying Clinton's surplus and turning it once again into a deficit.

And there are plenty more. Most of those were off the top of my head.

Try again. Be honest this time around.

These debates degenerate into more nonsense than Carters has pills, in the end a society that only works for the wealthy will not be a very nice place. Doesn't matter what your political leanings are. "An unequal society cannot help but be an unjust society. The most important item that parents in any society try to buy is a head start for their children. And the wealthier they are, the bigger the head start. Societies that promise equality of opportunity thus cannot afford to allow inequality of outcomes to become too great."

and you know full well that was NOT what that banner was for
why do you want to lie like that?

That is exactly what the banner was for.

Why do you want to believe the lying Bush Administration?

Why do YOU want to believe a lie? You know damned-well that is NOT what the banner was for. Divecon is factually correct.

Call me ignorant but I haven't seen that debunked before.

I'm open minded. You got credible links?
i did 4 years ago
when we first debated this

I don't remember that ...

Like I said, I'm open minded. If you had them before then you should either have them or be able to produce them now.

Use the search engine. Not that the links will exist.

No, he shouldn't be able to produce them now. That's absurd. I'm still waiting YEARS later for somethign credible to support the allegation you are supporting. I have at least SEEN the links divecon is talking about. I've seen nothing but rhetoric to support the accusation.

We had a "Mission Accomplished" banner when I returned from my last deployment. That was in 99. What did we accomplish? Oh yeah ... our mission. Silly me.

You were in the Navy. Don't act like you don't know what's being talked about. The pier, the LZ where we (the Marines) flew in, and every house in base housing had banners.
