rev. jesse jackson retiring

A lot of black folks were Republicans back then, dumb ass. That damn sure ain't the case today and why? Because racist trash like you are Republicans. I am willing to bet your pasty white ass has rec'd a lot more handouts than I have.
THE MOST racist are libs and their leadership. no betterment for you guys in 50 years, in 4 years under Trump you were better off then ever.

I saw in New York, that some judge is trying to claim that a test for potential teachers in basics like English, Writing and Math is racist because 90% of Asians and White people averaged 90% on the test and Blacks and Hispanics scored 53%. Yet, this lawsuit and judge think that these people who only score 53% on a test that is basically at 8th to 9th grade level should be teaching your children. So, they want to dumb down the test instead of requiring the potential teachers to go back to school and get a real education. That's racist? Do you believe today you are too stupid to pass a test 8th and 9th graders should be able to? How can Black people like Clarence Thomas and Ben Carson start off in the ghettos and become Brain Doctors and Supreme Court Justices but most Black and Hispanic people attempting to be teachers can't pass a basic reading, writing , English and Math test? I'll tell you why. It's this new Woke and Crybaby attitude you Communists have brought into our K-12 schools and now colleges and universities. This stupid CRT crap tells young Blacks and Hispanics that they don't have to study and work hard in school because they will get things for being lazy and acting stupid from Asians and White people. They can flunk out and still get "C's". That's socialism and root of all evil.
No my friend, if you keep living in the past, your people will never get out of the Ghettos and the Ghetto mentality. Your people have every bit of the same opportunity that White and Asians have to pick yourselves up and do just as well as Whites and Asians. That's what MLK wanted and stated. I don't care what people thought in the past. That's not what they think today. Jerkson and Dullston are trying to make money off your people by taking people back to those evil days of bigotry and racism. BLM is nothing more than a communist organization who wants what the Democrat Party wants to keep chains on Blacks and Hispanics. You have a bunch of Uncle Tom's in your pathetic Party of Slavery, the Democrat Party. Jerkson and Dullston are nothing like MLK and are not teaching anything like MLK did.
neither is blm teaching any thing like mlk did

Weird response. Do you have evidence either way?

What was 'weird' about it?

Blacks get 310 points added to their SAT's, for instance, and hispanics get 165 points added.

This practice continues on down the grades at many schools, via cheating and fraud among teachers and administrators. One example:

"‘Atlanta is the tip of the iceberg’

Atlanta’s rampant test manipulation amplified calls for nationwide education reform. Seven years after the Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported on testing problems, policymakers have failed to make significant progress toward changing the way students take standardized tests and how teachers interpret those scores.

In fact, the problem has worsened, resulting in documented cheating in at least 40 states, since the APS cheating scandal first came to light.

“Atlanta is the tip of the iceberg,” says Bob Schaeffer, public education director of FairTest, a nonprofit opposed to current testing standards. “Cheating is a predictable outcome of what happens when public policy puts too much pressure on test scores.”

Some experts, including Schaeffer, point to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 as a source of today’s testing problems, though others say the woes predated the law.

Then-president George W Bush, who signed the measure in January 2002, aimed to boost national academic performance and close the achievement gap between white and minority students.

To make that happen, the law relied upon standardized tests designed to hold teachers accountable for classroom improvements. Federal funding hinged on school improvements, as did the future of the lowest-performing schools.

But teachers in many urban school districts already faced enormous challenges that fell outside their control – including high poverty, insufficient food access, and unstable family situations. Though high-stakes testing increased student achievement in some schools, the federal mandate turned an already-difficult challenge into a feat some considered insurmountable."

Thanks for the clarification on what you were referring to. Exactly what I wrote. Socialism in testing brings down the learning in Blacks and Hispanic neighborhoods.
Although, a really great teacher will quickly learn what they need to in order to improve. Unfortunately, the leftist in education would rather teach wokeism and CRT to hide their poor results. Push tyranny because of Covid19 and blame bad results on Zoom and remote learning. Then pad the scores to hide their results more.

Where is he getting these numbers from? Are black and hispanic folks taking a different curriculum in college that white folks are? How about all the under qualified whites, what is the curriculum that they are taking?

Apparently not doing as well in college. New York is a very liberal state and I would guess the less taught about reading, writing and math the less blacks and Hispanics retain due to what goes on in K-12. Blacks and Hispanics are put in the same classes due to affirmative action when they aren’t ready. Then, college teachers raise grades of blacks and Hispanics and you get a greater percentage of unprepared people seeking jobs.

They do well enough when given the opportunity. What classes are whites put in when they are not ready? Do you have anything to back up any of that bullshit?

90% Whites and Asians passed the test. 53% of Blacks and Hispanics. It's about reading, writing, English and arithmetic. My opinion is there are several issues causing this. None is with the test itself since it's about basics that New York State believes teachers should have skills in.
The simplest reasons are the disintegration of the family in the Black and Hispanic communities is very high. Especially in the Black communities. Higher than in White and Asian communities. Their children depend upon their parents to hold them accountable with homework and learning the basics in school. Absent dads and moms working 2 jobs to put a roof over her children's heads.
Another area is directly in the curriculum in K-12 and in colleges. Too much nonsense on woke agendas like LGBTQ crap and BLM communist crap including reparations. Why study if you think the government is going to hand you a million dollar check. All kids are smart and are seeing this nonsense about free education in colleges and universities as well as the reparation nonsense. Democrats buying votes. Why study when you can steal $999 worth of goods a day and not go to jail. Soon, White and Asian kids will catch on as well.
In poorer neighborhoods, language has disintegrated as well. Ebonics along with Spanglish hasn't helped kids one bit learn to read, write and do English well. Back in the old days where there was no uniform language because of technology, dialects would completely change in a 50 year period. Look at Old English to Present Day English and the changes up to the printing press.

So, now what is your opinion on the reason Blacks and Hispanics scored 37% less on the teacher's exam?

You got a link to this so called exam?

You got a link to this so called exam?

"The lawsuit, originally filed by four teachers in 1996, claimed that the exam was "culturally biased" in favor of White applicants. According to the plaintiffs, more than 90% of White applicants passed the multiple-choice and essay test while Black applicants only passed 53% of the time. Hispanic applicants only received passing scores 50% of the time. "

The New York Times has an article too and said, "But some schools of education in New York complained that the literacy skills test was not a true measure of what makes a good teacher, and that many of their black and Hispanic students were failing it." The problem is this is true. Good teachers will learn the things they need to. The problem is, since they are new teachers, there is no way of judging who will be a good teacher and who won't. So, skills tests is what we have. And, why not start with teachers that can read, write and do math?
By the way, back to the real question, why are Blacks and Hispanics doing poorly on these exams? Go back to my three opinions and that's why.
