You gotta check this out. A simple case of "You might get what you ask for".

Republicans: Where did Donald Trump come from? The Daily Show: You created him.

Trump and Republicans agree the country is in terrible shape:

Trump is a political outsider, as Republicans have asked of their candidates:

Trump is a businessman, which Republicans want:

Trump and Republicans frequently share anti-immigrant sentiments:

Trump and Republicans hate political correctness:

"Why can't the GOP see this? I don't understand. Even though Republicans think Trump's all wrong for them, they're a match made in heaven. They both think America's crashing. They share a love of outsiders and businessmen. They can practically finish each other's xenophobic sentences."

For all the hand-wringing about Trump, he sure seems like the kind of candidate the party has been leading its conservative base into supporting for years.

-------------------------------------------------------

We've been saying that for months. All Trump did is show America what a Republican is supposed to look like under the light of day. And he is doing a fantastic job. He's even making Ted Cruz show his stripes.

If this is your way of saying Trump is great, I agree.

Yes, they did. The GOP hoped they could co-opt the Tea Party like they did the religious right. They hoped they could encourage that movement, ride a wave in, and then comfortably ignore the folks that got them there. It worked with the religious right and the hope is it would work again.

What the GOP didn't count on is that pretty much all that's left of their base IS the Tea Party after the shenanigans they've pulled. Trump and Cruz supporters represent an overwhelming majority of the GOP base right now. That's hilarious when you consider that both men are political poison to the establishment, moderates, and a vast majority of DNC voters.

So yes, they created him. They also created Cruz. And now they're stuck with the fruits of their labors.

Trump has called Mexican immigrants drug traffickers, rapists, and criminals, and called for banning Muslims from coming into the US. Well, Rep. Steven King (R-IA) once said, "They weigh 130 pounds and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert." Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) claimed, "Drug and human smuggling, home invasions, murder. Complete the dang fence." Rep. Peter King (R-NY) argued, "You have to be monitoring Muslim communities. That's where the threat is going to come from."

Trump IS the Republican Party. What he thinks, they think. How do we know? They tell us.

Yes, generally productive people actually create and produce useful things. Unlike Obama and his "you didn't build that".

Apparently you believe that's going to bother Republicans. It will, but only the establishment Republicans. The vast majority don't give a shit.

So what part do you imagine Republicans have a problem with?

Both Trump and Cruz are equally reprehensible and neither have any business being president.

Thanks for confirming my support for them.

Oprah
taught him everything he knows....

The rise of Trump is attributed to the direct planned assault on the Constitution and Bill of Rights by the left, lip service from the compassionate progressive conservative wing of the GOP, coupled with the Supreme Courts desire to write law versus interpret law as it is written, and presidents abuse and circumvention of federal law by executive order. The people are pissed, betrayed, and disenchanted with the course this country has taken. One could say the perfect political storm, pitting the progressive socialist wing of the Democrat party against the devout constitutional conservative wing of the GOP. What one should find interesting is the leading role the media is playing, realization that the proclamation that the Tea Party movement is dead was premature, false, as witnessed by recent primaries and rejection of Rino's. I am somewhat amazed Trump has weathered the storm and stands upon the precipice of becoming the candidate, for no other reason but that of speaking what others would not dare. It will be an interesting general election, a bought, proven liar, possibly subject to federal indictment, versus the mouth that roared. Shades of Nixon versus McGovern, so fitting.

Democrats are the real racists rdean. Look at the way guno brags that the Democratic Party is waging a campaign of genocide against whites to put blacks and Hispanics in the majority so that whites never have any say on what's happening in this country.

You mean you didn't build that alone. Hmm, where have I heard that before?

Right wing nitwits again. I knew they practiced.

This is true. Trump is popular solely because he represents a real chance to shake up the power structure that has ignored the party's needs for a long time. He's not conservative, that's for sure. Democrats are just a few years behind, witness Bernie's popularity. A socialist who only recently became a democrat just to run for president, and he's racking up enough votes to pull Hillary to the left. It won't be long before their structure is shaken as well.
