Republicans lack of critical thinking when it comes to TSA scandals is nauseating

Exactly how many terrorists have the TSA caught?

The generally accepted answer is "0".

How many TSA Agents have been arrested for theft? Over 1,000

Lol so because terrorists avoid the TSA that means they are failing?

You people crack me up lol

I actually find the public outrage over TSA scandals involving pat downs fascinating. It's a very gray area that really puts the TSA in a very difficult position ethically.

See, while I think it is very unfortunate when the elderly or children feel violated, you can still make the solid argument that many of the TSA agents involved in these scandals should not be scorned. Look, the reality is that often times when a TSA agent pats down a child, or takes an elderly person out of line for a more thorough search they are technically just doing their jobs. The TSA has to be thorough with everyone. It is critical to transportation security. I have never understood why people get so bent out of the shape about how strict the TSA is. They fucking have to be. Otherwise terrorists are going to see the flaws in their system and exploit them. It's as simple as that. I mean, yes, going through airport security is stressful and very inconvenient, but that is the price we have to pay for national security. We can't be weighed down by people's tender sensibilities about being too impatient for the process. Grow a pair. The TSA really do deserve our respect. They are literally the last line of defense against terrorist attacks made through public transport.

Imagine what would happen if the TSA made it a policy to be more lenient on the children and elderly when it came to their process. Isn't it safe to say that a terrorist could take advantage of that leniency? Absolutely.

Of course there are instances where the agents do go too far and are inappropriate, but that doesn't mean that every child or elderly person who receives a pat down is being violated. As long as the pat downs remain off certain body parts as dictated by protocol, is it really so awful?

Also, when a TSA agent does go too far and does something outside of protocol that is invasive, it really isn't the TSA's fault. It is the fault of the TSA worker for not following protocol. Obviously they should be dealt with. TSA's protocol does not involve touching genitals or breasts.

Seriously? You're defending the feeling up of a 7 year old girl? Get a fucking clue, the only person who is going to do that is a fucking perv. And the TSA protects them.

Well you're welcome to come up a well thought out argument.
What is to argue?

You are making excuses for excessive overbearing police state nonsense only because your team is in charge.

You could not care less about civil liberties. Go fly a kite.

And obviously you dont care about national security.

You, obviously, believe the lies of the government because you believe that more government is the solution to everything.

No, we think that government can be the solution if done intelligently. The TSA is a joke. In the aviation community their nickname is "thousands standing around" because that's mainly what they do.

There is a perfect private company model that could have been copied, that being El Al. They haven't had a successful terrorist attack carried out against them because their people are very well trained.

The TSA is a show, pure and simple. They provide no meaningful level of defense against a terror attack.

private company be better? What possible benefit would that serve?

Come on dude. What you're saying here is ridiculous. What exactly makes them so useless? You can't even explain why. They stand around? Really? That's your reasoning? Any moron who has been through airport security knows that isn't true whatsoever.

Why would a private company be better? That's just non sense. Any private security company would have to be heavily regulated otherwise their system is left extremely vulnerable.

The idea that you made this a partisan attack, thinking only Republicans complain about the abuse of the TSA exhibits your nauseating lack of critical thinking, dipshit. Go back to your sandbox and play with the other six year olds.

if she did, it would be like a kindergartner playing with college grads.

Sure I can. They are poorly trained. What they are trained to do is purely for show. They Are NOT an effective barrier against a terrorist. A terrorist will merely smile and be waved on through. That's a fact. Below is a link to why El Al is so good. Read it and learn something...

"When you fly El Al, perhaps your most jarring experience will be the interview with the security agent you will face while still at the ticketing counter before you board your flight. All passengers are thoroughly interviewed by well-trained security personnel, who question – or if necessary, grill, with extremely personal questions – every single passenger to determine if there is anything that arouses suspicion. You may be questioned by as many as three or four security agents, who will then compare notes to see if your answers are consistent and truthful. They may even confirm your statements with a long-distance phone call. Your luggage will be carefully scrutinized, and sealed items, like packaged goods or food may be cut open (the airline may reimburse you if your luggage is damaged). Your carry-on luggage may even be secured with a plastic tie to prevent you from opening it in-flight."

Other than abusing travelers how many terrorists have been stopped by TSA? How many crimes have been committed BY TSA? I can think of at least 6 cases where TSA agents have been caught stealing from travelers. I guarantee you there are far more that haven't been reported.

You tell us....what have they accomplished? You're defending them so hard....what benefit do they provide?

It's complete fallacy to assume that just because they haven't caught any terrorists that means they have failed. If they were so ineffective, wouldn't we of had more terrorists attacks? What's Al-Quada waiting for? The entire point is that the security measures have discouraged terrorist plots involving air travel.

When US troops raided bin Laden's compound, they found documents saying bin Laden was shifting his focus away from airline terrorism. He realized he lost the element of surprise from 9/11. That was when the TSA was ineffective. Since then, it has been widely reformed for the better.

Wrong, I provided a blog written by a security expert that has testified before Congress on the TSA. I can provide links to other security expert that agree that the TSA is useless, and that we would be better off if we went back to pre 9/11 security practices, but you have never let a fact affect your opinion in your life.

The entire point is that the TSA is a failure. The proof of that is all the weapons they let through screening, like two 12 inch razor blades.
