So there they are, the bunch of clowns, rattling on about "leaving Iraq" and how they would never do that, how horrible a move this is.

What???!!!!

This is the LONG HERALDED end of the Iraq war, the war Americans are tired of, the war we never should have gotten into in the first place. And the President is keeping his promise, bringing the troops home, to their families, out of harm's way, and also keeping the agreement with the new Iraqi government!

How do these Repubs get away with this with the American public? Are Americans just really dumb?

And there was Dick Cheney (oh, no!) saying that he would have started a war with Iran to get that drone back. OMG...

I'm glad they're home for now but my guess is that the younger, healthier troops shouldn't get too comfortable just yet. More of an offseason than retirement.

That's nothin, you hear what those fancy 'scientists' are doing over in Switzerland? They're planning an expirement for DEC 2012 using these anti-semetic underground particle accelerators and atom smashers to simulate the Big Bang in search of the Higgs Boson. We need to put up a No Fly Zone and start dropping bunker busters yesterday cause this is a matter of US National Security! Once the Swiss finally develop their Higgs Boson it's only a matter of time before Quantum Terrorists get their hands on it and use the God Particle to create black holes that'll wipe 'Murica and Israel right off the map! Then they gonna took our jerbs!!!

Well first of all Obama is not keeping HIS promise, he is keeping Bush's promise. Bush signed an agreement for withdrawal before Obama was even nominated let alone elected so all Obama is doing is honoring Bush's agreement. Secondly regardless of who made the agreement it's a bad agreement. If we were to actually pull out completely it will start a massive civil war interrupted only by Iran's invasion which will force us right back in. Thirdly, the second point is why we are NOT leaving completely. We are leaving a force in Iraq to...ahem..."protect our interests". So I wouldn't get too terribly excited.

Perhaps the party of "let him die" feels that not enough Americans have died? We didn't get the oil. Women there are now enslaved from western clothes to burkas. More than 30,000 Americans maimed. What other damage are they looking for?

Dunno...ASK yer pal OBAMA since he took FULL CREDIT for it today...:eusa_whistle:

WHY is Obama taking credit for something he was opposed to?

:eusa_whistle:

Because, when contrasted with John "We'll be there 100 years if we have too" McCain, this is a much better outcome.

He deserves credit for overseeing a rational and safe disengagement of American forces from a complete clusterfuck.

BULLSHIT. He was opposed to it from the start.

YOU may FUCK OFF now.

That's not what McCain said. That is such typical liberal twisting of the facts. What McCain said was that he saw no reason for us to not be in Iraq for 100 years LIKE WE HAVE BEEN in Germany, Japan, etc (as a peacekeeping balancing force) AS LONG AS American soldiers were not being killed or actively at war. If you are going to quote someone, put it in the proper context and quote them correctly, lest you look like an incredible ass.

If there's meant to be a civil war there, it's meant to happen. We can't eternally hold their nation together to keep their nation from collapsing. We actually never should have tried. I agree on the whole Bush agreement though. Obama didn't do anything remotely spectacular, if he did anything at all here.

Link? I'm a Republican and i'm incredibly happy we're out of Iraq. And as you know or don't know, the 'Status Of Forces Agreement' (SOFA) was signed by a Republican George Bush and the Iraq Government. This current President is just adhering to a deal that was already in place before he became President. Our troops were scheduled to leave at this time. Try googlin stuff before posting. It's always better to know what you're talking about before posting on Message Boards. Just a friendly tip. Take care.

He followed the Bush timeline. In other words, he didn't do a damn thing.

He deserves zero credit.
