Republican Officials Partnering With Christian Extremists

So when Progressives organize to get Progressive candidates elected thats Democracy but when evangelicals organize to get evangelicals elected thats theocracy?
Really?
Never mind that Christianity has been far more successful than Progressivism, which fails 100% of the time.
Progressive is not a religion, therefor supporting progressive candidates and policies is not supporting theocracy . What part of any of that can you not understand?
It is a religion. It has a dogma. It has salvation. It has a works-based philosophy. And it promises something like eternal life.
If yu dont understand that then you probably shouldnt be here.

In his behind-the-scenes work for right-wing politics, Lane has been described by The New York Times as "something of a stealth weapon for the right".[1]

Do You Know David Lane? Every American Should

This is a name that few people know and that everyone should. He is a far right wing extremist who goal is to establish the U.S. as a Christian Theocracy and he has got the ear of many prominent and influential Republican.

I believe that we as a nation-not just liberals and Democrats- should be very concerned about this. I do not think that most Republican would be comfortable with so many of their politicians being in bed with this person. Most Republican and conservative want this county to be a fair and just country for everyone. David Lane want anything but that. That is why he has been operating under the radar Read more below

In pursuit of conservative evangelical voters, GOP candidates embrace far-right political operative who is raising an ‘army’ to fulfill his ‘Christian nation’ vision

On Saturday, June 13, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will host a day-long, Christians-only prayer rally organized by political operative David Lane. Lane, who organized similar events for Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, is trying to recruit 1,000 conservative evangelical pastors to run for office, which he believes would mobilize hundreds of thousands of election volunteers and lead to conservative election victories in 2016.

Lane prefers to work outside the glare of the national media. Although his close connections to Republican officials and presidential candidates have drawn some notice, the extremism of the agenda he is promoting deserves far more attention than it has received to date. When one-third of the Republican National Committee took a nine-day junket to Israel in January with the American Family Association picking up the tab, things got a little ugly. Israeli media started asking questions about the extreme positions taken by AFA spokesman Bryan Fischer, including his claims that the First Amendment’s religious liberty protections apply only to Christians and that gays were responsible for the rise of the Nazi Party. In damage control mode, the AFA disavowed some of Fischer’s most inflammatory statements and took away his title – but not the radio show that continues to give him a bigotry-spewing platform. Meanwhile, the actual organizer of the trip, Christian nationalist David Lane, slipped out of the spotlight and got right back to building political alliances between high-level Republican politicians and conservative evangelical pastors, especially those in key primary states. - See more at: Why Do Republican Officials Keep Partnering With Christian-Nation Extremist David Lane Right Wing Watch
theres a couple of xstian rw extremists who post here.

The connecting tissue between Kristian Fundmentalists (kristian with a k because they are not really Christians, they pretend to be) is real. This has been going on for 2-3 decades.

It remains to be seen how desperate these people will become as the demographics are pushing the Republican party further and further from being able to win national elections.
So please tell us what a real christian is?

Someone that lives as Christ lived.

Christ washed the feet of the poor and denounced the moneychangers.

Conservatives in the U.S. spit on the poor and worship at the feet of the wealthy. The are in fact anti-Christ.

The problem is Christ never promoted a governing body to take the place of the role of the "individual" people to sacrificially give to those they see in their own local communities who have a need. Charity comes with no specific income status, and it's not just the responsibility given to the rich, there is no scriptural example that lays such responsibility inclusively and solely on the wealthy but for all.

Did someone claim that it is??

Progressive is one who is in favor of implementing new social reform or liberal polocies.

You don't seem to have a real firm grasp of the English language and I think your point is being lost in the limited usage of our language.

I do agree with Rabbi on one point, I keep telling this forum religions are societal road maps that tells one how to interact with a certain sect of the general populous.

By the context of his statement I would have to think he believes so also................

Way above your pay grade I suspect.

Always an attempt to parse what the bible says to fit a world view that allows poor treatment of the poor and worshiping the wealthy. Jesus said 'whatever you do to the least of these my brothers you do also to me'. That is pretty clear yeah? So if you ignore the poor when you have ability to help them then you can't claim to be Christian. You know, a follower of Christ. And since there are always poor and those in need, then anyone with wealth cannot be a Christian because you would be ignoring 'the least of these my brothers' while laying up treasure here on Earth. Opposite of what Jesus said.

I know those in America who claim to be Christian are not often challenged on this but you can't get around it, and deep down those who would be Christians know they are lying to themselves when they are driving their BMW or Cadillac and living in a comfy home and eating steak when so many are in desperate need.

When you ignore those in need you are ignoring Jesus. His words.

And you know that.

Ben Carson Set To Join Pastor Who Wants Gays Put To Death At Iowa Conference Submitted by Brian Tashman on Wednesday, 7/15/2015 2:00 pm Later this year, far-right Colorado radio host and homeschooling activist Kevin Swanson will be attempting to expand his national profile by organizing a “National Religious Liberties Conference” in Des Moines, Iowa. Since Swanson believes that homosexuality should be punished by death and frequently claims that liberals are using things like the movie Frozen and Girl Scout cookies to make children gay, we hoped that even this year’s field of Republican presidential candidates would think twice before showing up at his conference. But apparently that was too much to ask. -

Swanson on homosexuality: (selected passages)

  • Discussed whether the Rose Bowl should include a float where a gay person is stoned to death".
  • Lamented that these days country singer Kacey Musgraves wasn’t lynched for her “promotion of homosexuality” through song.
  • Defended a Ugandan measure to make homosexuality a criminal offense punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty, saying he was glad the country was “standing strong” by adopting extreme anti-gay laws.
  • Wanted America to have anti-gay laws “much like what the Pilgrims had” (who believed that homosexuality should be punishable by death, banishment and whippings) and enforce biblical law “that says that homosexuals should be put to death.” Explained that “a Christian perspective ultimately brought the death penalty upon homosexuality.” -

--Neurosurgeoun with an eye on conservative politics

Facts

-- In Fox News appearance, equated gays with bestiality and the North American Man/Boy Love Association: "Marriage is between a man and a woman. No group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition."

-- Claims marriage equality advocates are "directly attacking the relationship between God and his people"

-- In his 2012 book, wrote of marriage equality: "f we can redefine marriage as between two men or two women or any other way based on social pressures as opposed to between a man and a woman, we will continue to redefine it in any way that we wish, which is a slippery slope with a disastrous ending, as witnessed in the dramatic fall of the Roman Empire."

-- Claims same-sex marriage is part of the "new world order"

-- Does not believe in evolution

-- Says current "political correctness" is like Nazi Germany (43:30-44:55): "As we've evolved more and more into a politically correct situation, we don't even want to talk about what the family is supposed to do versus what the school is supposed to do—what the responsisiblities are of fathers and mothers—it really has degenerated to that level, not because our whole soiciety has degenerated to that level but because the loudest voices, and particularly the media, has tried to pretty much force that upon people and people have not stood up. People have not spoken up. Ya know, this country was supposed to be for, of, and by the people, but the people have become silent—very much like the people in Nazi Germany were silent. Most of them did not agree with what Hitler was doing, but they kept their mouth shut and you see what happened. And exactly the same thing will happen to the freedoms that we enjoy in America and the kind of nation that we've had if people don't speak up. They need to rise up. They need to say to political correctness: 'Take a hike! This is who we are. This is what we believe in. These are the principles that allowed us to become the pinnacle nation in the world record time, and we are not about to throw them out the window for the sake of political correctness.'"

-- Responded to criticism about his comments linking homosexuality to NAMBLA and bestiliaty by accusing liberals of racism: “They’re the most racist people there are”...“Because they put you in a little category, a box: ’You have to think this way, how could you dare come off the plantation?’”

-- Says same-sex marriage is "finger-in-your-eye-to-God" territory
