Republican low information voters

Hard to believe this is America

The GOP's despicable rush to demonize refugees

A poll just out from the Democratic firm PPP found that 27 percent of Republican primary voters support having the government shut down every mosque in the United States; 38 percent were opposed, and 35 percent were unsure. A full 41 percent of Ted Cruz supporters and 37 percent of Trump supporters want to shut down all mosques.

Only 38 percent of Republican voters realized how wrong it would be to shut down mosques

Given that we have seen case after case after case where terrorists attended mosques and no one turned them in or alerted authorities in any way, what would be so "wrong" about closing mosques? I'm not advocating that--yet. But I can certainly understand why some people would support such a move.

Do you have a single example of this happening in an American mosque? Or is it just another low information Republican fantasy?

Do you have some examples of mosque preachers/ leaders commending Obama for killing Isis terrorists?

Here's part of the problem, and this is another reality that liberals simply won't admit: We have seen numerous cases where Muslims were radicalized by fellow mosque attendees or where terrorists attended mosques but not a single non-jihadist mosque member alerted authorities about them, even though the jihadist was fairly open about their leanings and views.

Until Muslims adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward extremist Muslims, they can expect a lot of people to question their devotion to civil society and pluralism.

You're kidding, right? Seriously?

CNN is reporting on Obabbles new aggressive stance on Isis. I have noticed that whenever he attempts such a stance, he is reading from prepared remarks. Telling.

What would be wrong is that it is a clear violation of the first amendment. End of story.

Want to control religion in this nation - overturn the first amendment. I would say good luck but I believe the idea to be evil. If that ever happened here I would be one of those that actually would pack up and leave.

I cannot understand why anyone that has idea of what this nation stands for would even remotely support the idea. It is 180 degrees from the very core concept of freedom.

Voting for that bill, and wanting all the mosques shut down aren't the same thing idiot.

Right, and Shelly Shannon and Scott Roeder were radicalized in a Christian church. Lets shut them all down.

And here is the key reason that you NEVER allow the government such deference to shut down Islamic places of worship.

Does no one seem to understand that the churches will follow RIGHT behind them. They might not even lag - it is likely they will be shut down right along side of the Mosques.

Get rid of the freedom for that group and freedom of religion is gone entirely. For everyone.

Here's part of the problem, and this is another reality that conservatives simply won't admit: We have seen numerous cases where Christians were radicalized by fellow church attendees or where terrorists attended churches and rallies but not a single moderate Christian or conservative politician spoke out and condemned them about them, even though the radical evangelicals was fairly open about their leanings and views.

Until Christians adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward extremist Christians, they can expect a lot of people to question their devotion to civil society and pluralism.

It seems to me that Christians and Republicans, while quick to condemn radical Islam have a high tolerance and are quick to turn a blind eye, if not embrace Christian extremism. While it may take a different form, it is none the less extremism. And, while arguably not terrorism in the usual sense, there is a violent and oppressive nature to it that can and has incited violence against LGBT people, abortion providers and Muslims:

It many be a misnomer, but it's not according to Trump. Just saying that the leading Republican candidate seems to believe he can deny Muslims their right to religious freedom.

And then Rubio made it seem like he'd go even further...what an idiot.

It’s not about closing down mosques. It’s about closing down any place — whether it’s a cafe, a diner, an internet site — any place where radicals are being inspired.

Hmmmmm, closing down anyplace radicals get inspired. Fox News?

What does that have to do with shutting down places of worship? The answer, nothing, it's a deflection.
Check this out; if it's real who knows at this point;

"The Muslims in the West, we think of as “moderate” are not “moderate.” To them, a person is either a Muslim, a hypocrite (one who pretends to be Muslim to avoid punishment) or a Kafir (infidel). They do not see the Jihadis as “radical.” They only see Muslims and non-Muslims, and they will admit it — if only we will accept what they are telling us. So, here, just watch:"

And your point?

No matter what you may think of another religion they have a right to worship as they please.
