Republican Gerrymandering

the GOP needs to bet back to its Conservative roots of smaller government, more individual autonomy, and empowering people, not the government.

When was the GOP ever like that?

Name a president

Calvin Coolidge

Regan - but he had to work with the Dem's who controlled the House for the 1st 6 years. So he couldn't get a smaller government like he wanted.

No, Reagan actually enlarged government

Coolidge was the last of the small government Republicans who led us into the Great Depression

Sorry but I gotta chime in here.

Alan, Sampson, Lameman etc you are complete fucking morons. Districts like NC12 and TX35 weren't drawn by Dems. They were drawn by GOP controlled legislatures with the purpose of corralling Dems into 80-20 districts so they can win the others 55-45.

Hilarious that you think Dems draw the lines in NC and TX.

So just to reiterate, you are a bunch of fucking morons.

A15 out.

They just don't understand why you Gerrymander. It's not to win a district, it's to win a state. You want to give the Democrats one or two districts that they have a 90-10 advantage. That allows you to take four to six districts with a 55-45 Republucan advantage

The TEA Party wing of the Republicans may not owe its existence to Gerrymandering, but the tail-wagging-the-dog power it holds over the party and the nation is a direct result.

The Republican insistence on nominating conservative candidates who are right-wing buffoons in the general elections is a direct result of Gerrymandering.

Gerrymandering may be protecting the ideology of the Right, but it's rendering the Republicans impotent in national elections.

Gerrymandering is THE reason that Americans have a less than 10% approval rating for Congress.

It's the REPUBLICANS who're being hurt by Republican Gerrymandering in the long run.

`
16 of the 21 most-gerrymandered Congressional districts are Democratic.

Which has NOTHING to do with how gerrymandering is damaging the republicans by helping to preserve a minority ideology.

At some point in time, you guys are going to have to stop settling for a devil just slightly less heinous than the democrats.

When conservatives have no valid response, which is often the case, there’s the predicable and failed attempt at deflection.

Yes, the thread is about republican gerrymandering, a bad faith effort on the part of the GOP to manipulate congressional districts in a manner beneficial to the Party, not all the residents of a given state.

The Republicans "who're" ... that would be John McCain, right ? or is it Lindsey Graham's month to turn tricks? hard to keep track of what the GOP stable is up to......

Neither is a Congressman

Republicans have made a pact with the devil with the Tea Tards. Yea, they guarantee some districts but bring the rest of the party down in the national elections

The pretense that Democrats don't Gerrymander and that they don't have "extreme" candidates doesn't pass the laugh test.

the media hasn't informed them of such, ipso they doesn't exist...

ahh so point out this a political cudgel used by one and all is what? off limits? bad faith? get over yourself.....

did it ever occur to you that the vote in 2010 removed the faux gopers/cons ( and a few others) whom Rahm had ( and brilliantly too) recruited and ran in 06 to take back the house?

wow:eek: look who came out from under the muck? hows life in the pond Art? still up in Wisconsin crying in your beer? Gonna show up for the next vote?

In the process of setting electoral districts, gerrymandering is a practice that attempts to establish a political advantage for a particular party or group by manipulating district boundaries to create partisan advantaged districts.

Republicans still illegally trying to gerrymander

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Strikes Down State's Congressional Map, Saying It Illegally Benefits GOP | HuffPost

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Monday ruled that the state’s congressional map went so far to benefit Republicans that it “clearly, plainly and palpably” violated the state constitution.

So Republicans don't really care about the constitution state or federal.

That is a sad, baiting post, dude.... Not even a decent flame to bore us with.

And OF COURSE the Democrats Gerrymander! They do it as much as they can when they can!

They're a political party in the good ol' U.S. of A., and Gerrymandering is both legal and practiced!

I don't see how the assholes responsible for drawing and signing off on the districts as they are today can look themselves in the mirror, but whatever.....

That's kind of the point. Shame on ALL Gerrymandering. And special shame on the Republicans because they perfected the Art of it.

Let's give the Republicans their two gold stars, declare them the "winners" at the pitifully unfair practice of American Political Gerrymandering, end the practice in both law and in spirit, and move on.

Gerrymandering has all of the other countries laughing at us and Rocket Science this is not.

I have no tolerance for dems hammering Republicans on gerrymandering, none.

Meh...

I've been called worse than 'democrat' by a better class of people, and your 'intolerance' doesn't affect me one iota.

Good thing I abhor the concept of Gerrymandering, eh? :eusa_shifty:

The other thing simply ain't gonna happen because it's anatomically impossible, and I can't begin to imagine what you might have in store for a third option...

They were unconstitutional in their gerrymandering. Thought you loved the constitution. But you won’t like the lefty judges position so I guess constitutions mean nothing just a talking point when it’s convenient
