Capitalism is neither Republican nor Democrat. As the drive is for better margins and lower wages...the 'best' becomes prohibitively expensive..while the shoddy and the mediocre become the norm..for most.

As for jobs.....unfettered Capitalism thrives on the worst jobs..for the lowest pay...as long as the margins are good.

People forget..or never knew..that our Middle class was largely created by controlling capitalism..and securing better wages through union action.

In fact, if a company tries to provide the best jobs..and wages....laissez-faire capitalism---demands that they be undercut..and either adjust..or go under.

Unfettered capitalism is like 100% octane..very powerful..but prone to blow up the engine.

Compassion, nor God--play any role afaik.

No the middle class was created by a fluke in history, no competition/ The world was in ruins after WWII.

yup...that was indeed part of it...mostly though..the economy was so white hot that companies stopped being so resistant to unionism...and allowed some of the honey to spread horizontally rather than vertically. You are correct..this was a historical anomaly..but people liked it and grew to expect it...probably a good thing..all in all.
