However, to defend these positive developments and the values associated with them, you cannot tolerate the intolerant. That is a very important component of tolerance. Too tolerant and you'll find yourself having your hand hacked of for stealing, or your head cut of for apostasy, or unable to practice the religion you choose and to marry whom you choose. They are probably at the beginning of a process designed to protect themselves and the existing tolerant culture from regressive influences, as well they should.
