I was taught that FDR was "the greatest US President" and once you do any independent research you have to wonder what greatness standard scale is used to come to that conclusion.

In November 1940, after 2 whole FDR terms this is what the world and nation looked like.

At home. unemployment was 14.6%. That's right, after 2 whole terms of "New Deal" unemployment was still at a disastrous Socialist Fail levels. Not only didn't the New Deal help the economy, the New Deal prolonged and worsen the Depression. The FDR Depression a direct result of Roosevelt bringing Soviet style Central Planning to the USA with the same results. The reason for the economic failure is obvious once you realize that more people on FDR's staff reported to Stalin than to FDR. The same ideology failing in the USSR was tried and failed in the USA

Abroad. Hitler and the Nazi just occupied France and swept up Holland and controlled most of Europe; London subject to Nazi bombing raid. FDR's Russian allies just got their asses kicked by the Finns.

That's how FDR's second term would have ended.

The economy in tatters, the world awash in blood and all the spies in the White House and State would have had to put out their resumes had FDR done what every other popular President had done before him and only served two terms

FDR was not only a terrible president, he was a diseased and feeble minded....power hungry murderous fool.

The word 'Fool' is probably much too weak a description of him. Even a fool would recognize the heinous nature of Stalin and refuse to do his bidding.

Uncle Joe... and they called Dan Quayle stupid for his spelling of potato

The obvious is that Frank is a loony reactionary of the far right.

Of course he hates FDR.

He's not only a loon, but he wastes a decent thread concept of why FDR really ran for a third and what would have happened had someone else ran against Wilke, who largely shared FDR's view of for affairs but differed domestically, and could Wilke have won against any democrat. Would John Gardner Nance been the nominee?

But, I choose not to respond substantily to the "thread."

Ka-ching! George Soros is 25 cents poorer after having to pay reactionary Starkey

All previous presidents were gentlemen who stepped down after two terms. FDR was the first modern president and the democrat party was ruthless. Media opposition to FDR's 3rd term was suppressed by the government and the depression rolled on into FDR's failed 3rd term. The greatest insult to the American public was the media's support of FDR's 4th term even though anyone who was anyone in the media was aware of FDR's physical condition. They ran a freaking corpse and told America that FDR was fit as a fiddle. When the president died about 90 days after being re elected his medial records disappeared and there wasn't a single note of outrage or curiosity in what passed for the media at that time.

FDR was not always rated America's greatest president; since 1948 FDR was usually rated third greatest. It wasn't until the last poll in 2010 that 238 of America's noted historians rated FDR the greatest.
Of course the people that lived during that period knew FDR was the great when they elected FDR for his third and fourth terms, even sick he was great.
Today's conservatives still cannot understand why both the people and historians rate FDR so high, so they used their old standby's FDR was sick, FDR was a commie, historians are commies, the people that voted for FDR's were commies and so on.
FDR's position in US history must really be a thorn to conservatives.

It did not bother the Koch family.

It has nothing to do with political ideology, but you will never understand that. It has everything to do with truth...something those on the Left could care less about...remember your motto? "The ends justify the means"...so nice.

And nearly all my relatives who lived during FDR's reign of failure, knew he was a power hungry feeble minded elitist jackass.

What politician, actor, military officer doesn't?

FDR's imaginary greatness is directly correlated to Progressive control of our sabotaged educational system

Damn, I forgot that reason, the education system of course, but then that was sort of a given, I mean isn't the American educational system under commie rule?
