Ready for Boots on the Ground in Iraq?

Can't undo what has already been done.
1, 10, 10,000, 10,000,000 Iraqis, Syrians, Afghans, or any other is worth the life of a single US serviceman. Get our people out of the area and wash our hands of the region.

The pinch is coming for the dipstick Obama. Now that he is committed to bombing tumbleweeds and desert oasis, guess what?

What, no empty pharmacies to send T-Hawks into?

Its not working

So, the decision will have to be made at some point.

Cut and run like he did last time? Leave it to turn into a crap hole like it is today? Just another Obama Syria screw-up?

Or will he put boots on the ground to do the job?

I say he'll leave them to die and go golf

John McCain Criticizes Iraq Air Strikes As 'Ineffective'

WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Reuters) - The United States conducted a new round of air strikes on Sunday against Islamic State militants in Iraq while congressional Republicans slammed President Barack Obama's intervention as ineffective and called for more aggressive military steps.

Republican Representative Peter King of New York criticized Obama for insisting he will not send U.S. ground troops to combat Islamic State forces in Iraq, adding that the United States has been too timid in the crisis so far.

"We should take nothing off the table. We (should) start off with massive air attacks," King, a member of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, told NBC'S "Meet the Press" program.

"I think doing them from aircraft carriers is limiting them. We should use bases in the area so we can have much more sustained air attacks. We should be aggressively arming the Kurds," King added.

President Obama "Phones It In" To Explain How Well Things Are Going In Iraq - Live Feed

Mass graves - transitory. Military coups - noise. ISIS direct calls for American blood - no problem. Siding with another unelected leader without being sure - new normal foreign policy. Arming kurd fighters - sure why not. Saving a few 100 Yazidi in the name of humanitarianism (oh and the oil sshh) - priceless. We hope President Obama has had a restful morning on his vacation at Martha's Vineyard as he speaks on the latest political developments in Iraq (which last week he explained were crucial if the army was ever to fight for the 'nation' ever again). Just a reminder, the call is 'audio only' - listen hard for the calls of 'fore' in the background.

This is exactly what ISIS want, boots on the ground.

It's hardly surprising that the right would fall for this.

its what the RW's want too... it makes it easy to blame Obama for starting another war.
The war has already started. Soon someone will tell the moron

Do you have a news report that substantiates what you are claiming? Is Daesh really gaining ground in Anbar? Are they firing mortars into the green zone?

Your ignorance overwhelms you and remains irrevocable. The point was not that a war has not been started; it was to the point that Republicans falsely accuse Obama of starting it. Go back and read it.

Our troops and airmen are in harms way as they help fight a terrorist organization that has vowed to kill Americans, bring violence to our shores and commit atrocities and crimes against humanity on a massive scale. The OP disparages and insults those troops and continues to do so by blatantly posting misleading misinformation even as lately as today. This is done for the obsessive hatred of the President and that hatred is used as an excuse to conduct his disgusting betrayal of forces participating in active combat overseas. It perfectly OK to disagree with the countries or Presidents policies and to speak out against those policies. It is not OK to bash the troops and promote misinformation and lie about the troops for the promotion of ones opinion.

The
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group gained ground west of Baghdad Thursday, further reducing the government's already-shaky hold on Anbar province, officials said.

"The Albu Nimr area fell completely into the hand of (IS) members," Ghazi Najras, an Anbar MP, said in reference to the tract on the Euphrates River and east of the town of Heet, which fell last week.

Clashes began early Thursday and lasted until about 10:00 am (0700 GMT), police Colonel Shaban al-Obaidi said.

The heavily-secured Green Zone in Baghdad has been targeted with six mortar shells coming from the southern area of the capital, Press TV reports.

Security sources said the projectiles targeted the Green Zone at Tuesday night, three landing near the Babel Hotel, and three striking next to the US Embassy.

Ambulances rushed to the Green Zone, mainly towards the US Embassy, while Iraqi helicopters were seen in the skies above the Green Zone. Witnesses said they heard the sirens of the US Embassy sounding off very loud.

No one can enter the Green Zone easily without a badge that authorizes entrance. Car bombs do not take place there.

The mortar attack just happened I see. Do you think Daesh is winning with six mortar rounds landing "near" the US Embassey? Are you hoping they kill some Americans the next time?

In the territory gains by Daesh. you should focus on all the territory gained or lost in Iraq. Then you would find they are losing more than gaining. Why do you focus only on the terrorist's gains?

Boots on the ground won't happen until after the November elections.

NF 9617589
So its clear there are no boots on the ground right now and for four more months. If combat boots go back in November should Congress pass an AUMF to give Obama the go ahead to send them?

Why won't anyone answer this question: If combat boots go back in after next week's elections should Congress pass an AUMF to give Obama the go ahead to send them?

The following exchange prompted Tinydancer to produce an Iraq map on August 13. Its been over two months since she has tried to use the IS terrorist assault on Iraq in a political attack on the current US president. Unfortunately for that unwarranted crusade by TinyDancer and Geaux, the map has changed:and it is not going in favor of the IS terrorists. And with Maliki stepping down, the benefits are beginning to appear.

Its Obama's mess to deal with and once again, he is over his head

Sal 9617895
And once again you seem to be rooting for the bad guys. Obama has not done a bad job either when dealing with them. Bin Laden - Dead. Gaddaffi - Dead. Multiple Al Qaeda Leaders - Dead. Ethiopian pirates - Dead. Syrian Chemical Weapons dismantled. And most recently..ISIL fighters and getting their martyr wishes answered..in droves.

Oh yeah, Obama has really cracked down on ISIS.
