On average the market is supposed to return approx 8% per year and we ve been closer to 12-13% since 2010. Not terrible and you’re still relatively young so keep dollar cost averaging. But we all need to sacrifice for our kids and I think entitlements must be attacked. I d start with fraud with Medicaid, SSI, welfare, etc.

...200 Billion was about 25% of our deficit for the calendar year. Pittance? You are insane.

Yes, that is not the only factor, no one said it was, and neither was Obama's stimulus when it passed in the middle of Great Recession. But this extra round of tax-cuts in the middle of solid economic expansion have made our already bad fiscal shape that much worse.
