Most of the people (IMHO) who approve or disapprove of the Dobbs ruling are doing so based on their party affiliation and/or their position on abortion rights. But I wonder how many have considered the governance issue, IOW federalism. One of the founding principles of our form of gov't is that the federal gov't ought to be limited in their authority to functions that state and local gov't are not equipped to do. Local law enforcement for example isn't within the purview of the federal gov't, some issues and functions are better served at the state and local levels where the voters can have their say, rather than 9 unelected people making large decisions for everybody. Usually when the Supreme Court decides constitutional matters, it is based on interpretations of what's actually in the Constitution. And if it ain't there, then the US Congress can legislate a given issue; they are in fact our elected representatives. But if they don't do that, then the issue falls to the states to determine their own laws and rules, and that is the way it is supposed to be.
