Rand Paul Begs President Biden For Relief Aid After Deadly Tornados. After A Career Of Voting No When Others Needed Aid

Well many are quick to mock the Senator but I think that is unkind. I think its to his credit that he is willing to ditch his principles to buy the votes of his constituents.

He doesnt explain where this money should come from ?

Has Senator Paul ever ditched his fiscal conservatism before ?
Well, Kentucky elected him. They must agree that they don't need any disaster relief.

Samaritan's Purse by Franklin and Billy Graham is a great charity that helps out these folks and stays for the long haul instead of just the short term in front the cameras...we can do better through charity work rather than through government intervention

Those bills were straight relief bills with no pork, is that right OP?

Why do you have to misrepresent the truth to make your point.
They got to politicize everything, and they especially hate Rand Paul for standing up against Fauci or Faucism.

I suspect that if he raised similar objections this time he would be toast in Kentucky. I wonder if his political opponents in the Senate might bookmark this and throw it back in his face the next time he acts like a total prick ?

What rand opposed was the fact that they tried to throw in short-term extentions to the debt ceiling.

Hurricane Harvey relief should have been a clean bill. He would have fully supported it.

Unfortunately, they never want to let a perfectly good crisis go to waste and always try to shove a bill full of everything else.

Anything Rand Paul writes for the benefit of his constituents will be an absolutely clean bill.

Thanks for the background info.

Would lefties deny aid to Kentucky because Paul didn't want to spend federal funds to rebuild New Jersey's casino's after Sandy?

Kentucky pays taxes. They fund FEMA. If FEMA doesn't want to help via Brandon then Kentucky can just stop paying Federal Taxes then.

FEMA is INSURANCE. for storms. Kentucky can Insure itself without the FEDs .

So to end all further debate on this typical HOGWASH from the left. Fire ALL GOV'T EMPLOYEES. End the Debt Ceiling. And return to the limited delegated powers under the original Constitution. Then States can fund their own disaster relief programs without all this nonsense.

I have relatives in Kentucky. Those tornadoes did great damage. But Rand Paul who opposed disaster relief for other states now begs for it.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is facing criticism for requesting federal aid for his home state despite his long track record of opposing aid for other regions recovering from disasters.

Kentucky was one of several Midwestern states rocked by tornadoes over the weekend. The storms decimated large portions of towns, and as many as 70 people are believed to have been killed in Western Kentucky.

Paul shared a photo of a letter he sent to the Biden administration requesting "expeditious approval" of a request for federal aid made by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. Requests like these by senators in states affected by a natural disaster are quite common, but Paul is facing blowback because he has opposed federal disaster relief for several affected regions throughout his Senate career.

Paul is a deficit hawk, who has battled against hikes to the federal deficit to fund all sorts of legislation. His opposition to aid for states impacted by disaster has often been based in his belief that disaster expenses should be offset by cuts elsewhere in the federal budget.

In 2013, for example, Paul voted against aid for Northeast states hit by Hurricane Sandy.

And if the commies try to pile pork in the bill like they did the others, I'm sure Paul will vote against it too.

dems never look inside these bills...they just blindly support them...Pelosi has been fucking up the bill process by cramming unpopular legislation into them forcing people to vote for bad bills...I wish the democrat voters would read this shit...maybe they would wake up....
