Public pensions are eating taxpayers alive

Yes, too many Republicans are not fiscal conservatives. That needs to change and maybe the climate is ripe for it. The media is full of crap, it's obvious to anyone not in a coma but it's quick, easy and entertaining. The media is acting like the fourth branch of government and people let them get away with it for the most part.

fiscal conservative = Fuck the Middle Class.

Terribly foolish conclusion, but it is held by many Americans...sadly.

Fiscal conservatism promotes free trade which doesn't exist and deregulation which hurts the middle-class.

Fiscal conservatism promotes a balanced budget when government budgets work with anticipated income numbers. How do you balance 'anticipated'?

Fiscal conservatism is a junk philosophy based on lies and half-truths propagated by actual conservatives (rich white guys) who push their 'were rich and better than you' to the low thinkers of America.

Take it from this rich white guy, you're a fool, a fool that through your voting record that has left a legacy of screwing your kids and grand kids who will never do as well financially as you.

If ever expanding welfare programs and deficit spending expanded the middle class, than why is the middle class shrinking today?

Because Bush/Republicans/corporate America crashed the economy.

Hey, stop that! Logic and reason have no place in a discussion like this. It's about what feels right. Don't you know that???

It's about not being fooled into thinking the promoters of conservatism have your best interest in mind. Which they don't.

The problem is in municipal union contracts where municipal unions are allowed to engage in binding arbitration. Local jurisdictions can't afford it but national unions like the AFL and federated teachers unions gang up on them. Municipal workers retire (young) and move out of the area but local jurisdictions are still stuck paying the pensions.

What if the same amount of pensioned workers move into an area?

Wrong. Free trade doesn't mean what you apparently think it does and deregulation can help or hurt business, depending on the specifics you're talking about. Getting big business out of government's pockets helps small business, free trade and the middle class. Liberals pass policies that hurt the middle class and blame the people they helped. It makes no sense.

Anyone that has ever run a business could answer that. Which apparently leaves you out.

You're a fool if you think anyone believes that you are rich. You know zip about economics.

Because Bush/Republicans/corporate America crashed the economy.[/QUOTE]Then why didn't all the spending fix it? It didn't because it can't. Bush's spending went way up when Pelosi and crew took over, like with most Democrat control of the Senate. Americans played a big role too, even apart from electing the politicians, they don't get a pass. You can't see it because you don't want to.

You have trouble focusing on the point at hand, that much is clear. The point was about expanding the middle class, which is exactly the opposite of what is happening as the entitlement state grows and grows.

How about rather than sucking up to whichever group you believe has your best interest in mind (a flaky intentions-based idea at best), why not focus on those ideas and policies that have actually produced the best RESULTS for that which you espouse? Stated different, stop going with what feels right and let's talk about what actually works. M'kay???

And for what it's worth, I am not a conservative. I'm a libertarian.
