Prostitution should be made legal

It is legal, but there are certain restrictions. You may not pay in cash directly, but paying in flowers, chocolates, supper, and jewelry is okay.

Look at any high school. Much of American 'dating' is little ore than ritualized prostitution. He wants her body, she expects him to pay for it. Sometimes it's the other way around, but that's the exception.

Germany makes billions off their legal prostitution trade, I say legalize it. At least that way you took that power out of the hands of the pimps and gansters on the street, most of whom get the girls hooked on drugs and beat them senseless anyways. Legalize it, give the girls STD Tests every so often and lets clean this up.

Right. We make it legal then all the social diseases would disappear overnight. Nobody would be cheating on their spouses either because it would all be "legal".

Social diseases will not go away overnight but the chances of getting an STD from a prostitute with a clean bill of health are far less than a drug addicted hooker on the street. People still cheat on their wives regardless if prostitution is legal or not.

Let's see. Person A is in a rather randy state so would thus like to experience yet again the oh so pleasurable feeling of a finely administered blow job. Person B considers herself quite the fine blow job administrator and, in fact, makes her living at it. She charges $200 for a single session, and Person A thinks it's a fair and affordable price. Wow, someone arrest these two crackpot threats to society...quick!!!

Well if prostitution were legal the girls wouldn't be allowed to charge their own prices, even now the girls who work for a pimp or gangster charge whatever he tells them to charge.

Authoritarian social conservatism is contrary to liberty

All the working girls in Korea have those little "STD Check" cards. They get checked every month by a doctor for STD's and guess what? They still get STD's! (No, I've never gotten an STD)

Could it be they get it from the long line of guys that have sex with them practically every night of the week? Naw!

Think about that. Some guys actually pay for the chance to get sloppy 157ths!

Prostitute are generally better actresses than those in Hollywood. Watch a documentary about prostitution in Nevada called "The Chicken Ranch". The prostitutes laugh at how the "john" believes that they are really enjoying his pathetic dick.

I've got no issue with making it legal. So long as it is regulated sufficiently. License the providers, ensure they maintain proper health certifications and let them run their business. Though, like Rhode Island I would still ban the street-walking types. Require it to be an indoor transaction.

Well getting checked for STDS regularly does not guarantee you will never get one, porn stars are required to be checked regularly and every once in a while you will hear about a porn star who did get an STD. Getting checked regularly only reduces the risk, it doesn't eliminate it. My thing is prostitution is here to stay whether it is legal or not, at least if its legal it lets the government make some money and provide jobs, legal prostitution in Germany makes billions a year, our country is way bigger than Germany, how much can we make?

Exactly, besides most massage parlors are pretty much prostitution type joints anyways.

Is it different if she's just a ho who doesn't get paid?

I remember a movie called "Prime Cut" where girls were taken from a adoption house to be prostitutes for the local boss. In one scene, a prostitute's pimp wants to teach her a lesson by taking her to a bunch of bums and telling them they can do anything they want to her for a nickel. When the hero of the movie finds her, she opens up her hand and a pile of nickels fall out.

GOOD MOVIE!

If you can give it away for free, you should be able to sell it
