The Obama Syndrome?

The question relates to our president. Now in the spirit of full disclosure, I am not a trained psychologist or psychiatrist, but I have taken a college level course or two. As in every Psych 101 course, I, like every student in the class, was convinced that I suffered whatever aberration was being discussed that day. So, as I say, I am not an expert. But also like most people who have taken an introductory psychology course, some things stuck with me, most probably because they were so unusual.
That being said, many writers have used the "narcissist" when describing the President's personality. Not a particularly obscure disorder unless carried to the "danger to self or others" degree. Until the individual gets to that point the disorder simply is an annoying trait, and most of us have known people who are narcissists or perhaps are related to such a person or even dated someone like that at one time or another.
But there are two other disorders that are closely related to narcissism: Munchausen Syndrome, particularly the sub-type pseudologia fantastica, and Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP). From what I've read, these two disorders appear to be narcissism on steroids.

We need to find a new label for the ideology espoused by leftist Democrats. Liberal doesnt accurately describe the party of blinkered intolerance, fanatical certainty, and an eagerness to destroy freedom in order to achieve some dubious utopia. Progressive is more historically accurate for ideas that go back to a movement that started in the late 19th century. But it still suggests that lefties are the party of improvement and the future, when in fact they are reactionaries recycling failed ideas about as au courant as a Nehru jacket and a puka-shell necklace.
These labels, moreover, function like newspeak in Orwells 1984. They suggest that lib/progs are tolerant champions of individual freedom and rights, skeptical of old-fashioned group identity, believers in nuance and complexity, open to new ideas that challenge authority, and respectful of difference and diversity. Liberals fancy themselves the party of reason and truth, their views and ideas the consequence of education and nuanced thinking, and their prescriptions and policies the only viable way to improve human life and eliminate suffering and oppression.
Flip through any newspaper at random and you will find examples that show todays lib/progs are exactly the opposite of those flattering clichés. Take global warming, back in the news recently after the announcement that last years average temperature was the highest on record. The science is settled, the lib/progs scold us, and there is a consensus that human activity is warming the planet to dangerous levels and causing more frequent catastrophic weather events. Those who challenge this consensus are deniers, either stooges of the oil companies or hopelessly ignorant rubes irrationally closing their eyes to an inconvenient truth.

The Origins of Leftist Racial Orthodoxy

If "diversity" is good, why do liberals congregate in lily-white enclaves like Vermont (the whitest state in the Union, according to the Census) and Marin County, California? White liberals hector others incessantly about the need for "diversity," but most have no interest in living in neighborhoods with large numbers of blacks. The ideal society in the liberal mind always seems to be a Scandinavian socialist one (which is to say that liberals strive to make the U.S. more like some of the most uniformly white nations in the world).
The liberal enforcers of racial correctness are quick to decry the evils of racism, yet they are quite willing to practice it themselves in the form of affirmative action -- and they are strangely silent when blacks engage in "hate crimes" against whites. Conservatives have been increasingly willing to point out these and other hypocrisies of our racial orthodoxy, but they invariably fail to understand its true origins.
What drives our contemporary racial orthodoxy? Many conservatives mistakenly believe that liberals obsessed by race are afflicted with "white guilt." Not so. The truth about racial matters in the U.S. is this: racial issues are not actually about race. In the hands of the progressive left, race is a tool used by powerful whites against other whites; specifically, race is a weapon used by liberals to bludgeon conservatives and delegitimize conservative, patriotic values.
But it has not always been so.
Prior to World War II, progressives and leftists -- like Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger -- viewed blacks as inferior human scum who should be eliminated through eugenic hygiene. But after World War II, "progressive" thinking about race underwent an astonishing metamorphosis. The American left forged a strategic alliance with blacks, using race to attack the core values of an American society they had now come to despise as the ultimate evil.

The White Negro is perhaps the most important work of literature in postwar America. It provided a blueprint for the cultural revolution of the 1960s, and in hindsight, it explains nearly all left-wing, anti-conservative behavior since. If blacks were social outcasts in American life, then the white enemies of traditional American values would align with them. An immoderate drunk like the late Sen. Edward Kennedy -- who was kicked out of Harvard for cheating, then killed a young girl he was presumably cheating on his wife with, and got away with it -- could not possibly point the finger at blacks and tell them to be honest, chaste, and sober. He could, however, falsely accuse Judge Robert Bork of wanting blacks to "sit at segregated lunch counters" to deflect attention from his own behavior. And it worked. (Today, following the same "enemy of my enemy is my friend" strategy, leftists align themselves with Islamic terrorists and radicals, under whose rule they would never actually want to live.)

Left-wing racial rhetoric about "fairness" and "equality" and "non-discrimination" has been used to conceal a subterranean leftist agenda of anti-Americanism and anti-conservatism for over fifty years. Conservatives persist in stupidly taking this rhetoric at face value; hence, they always find themselves on the racial defensive.
Conservatives need to stop being suckered by this leftist con game, and they need to do it before November.

They view themselves as the pinnacle of humanity - they believe they're perfect people and anyone who challenges their ideas (which have been repeatedly proven wrong) are nothing but layman hate mongers....

Syndicalism is a type of economic system proposed as a replacement for capitalism and an alternative to state socialism, which uses Confederations of collectivised trade unions or industrial unions. It is a form of socialist economic corporatism that advocates interest aggregation of multiple non-competitive categorised units to negotiate and manage an economy.[1]
For adherents, labour unions are the potential means of both overcoming economic aristocracy and running society fairly in the interest of the majority, through union democracy. Industry in a syndicalist system would be run through co-operative confederations and mutual aid. Local syndicates would communicate with other syndicates through the Bourse du Travail (labor exchange) which would manage and transfer commodities.
Syndicalism is also used to refer to the tactic of bringing about this social arrangement, typically expounded by anarcho-syndicalism and De Leonism, in which a general strike begins and workers seize their means of production and organise in a federation of trade unionism, such as the CNT.[2] Throughout its history, the reformist section of syndicalism has been overshadowed by its revolutionary section, typified by the IWW or the Federación Anarquista Ibérica section of the CNT.

While Obama's sinking prospects for re-election are disquieting, the real source of liberals' despair is their sudden, unexpected realization that the progressive agenda is dead in its tracks and will likely be in full retreat after 2012.

President Obama has nominated a former union organizer with a disturbingly radical background to a vitally important federal office that could manipulate unemployment figures for the Obama administration’s benefit.
The nominee in question is central banker Erica L. Groshen, an economist.
Groshen is a long-time registered Democrat whom President Obama wants to serve as Commissioner of Labor Statistics. Although Groshen says she has “a very non-political, non-partisan background,” her resume reads like that of a leftist community organizer.
She even sent her children to a cultish Communist summer camp called Camp Kinderland. The Stalinist camp was created in 1923 as “an affiliated institution of the Communist Party’s fraternal Jewish society, The International Worker’s Order, and was most probably owned by the Party itself,” according to former Marxist-turned-patriot Ron Radosh.
Radosh explained that campers are immersed in various indoctrination schemes aimed at making impressionable young people hate America.

Leftist Protesters Denounce Islamorealism Ads, Call for Censorship

Last week, protesters gathered in White Plains, New York to denounce hatred. Were they protesting against murderous Islamic jihad terror attacks against innocent civilians in Israel and elsewhere? Were they protesting the escalating persecution of Christians in Egypt, Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and religious minorities all over the Muslim world? Or was it maybe a protest against the arrest of a 14-year-old girl with Down syndrome for blasphemy in Pakistan after an imam planted burnt pages of the Qur'an among some trash she had burned?
No. None of the above. The "hatred" the protesters came together to denounce was my Islamorealism ad that has been running along the Metro-North train line: "19,250 deadly Islamic attacks since 9/11/01, and counting. It's not Islamophobia, it's Islamorealism."

Center right in a socialist European society maybe, but damn near far left communist in American society. If the last 6 years has not proved that yet to some, then you might not ever understand it, or maybe that is how you want it. Who knows.

Inequality: The Cudgel of Progressives

Just about every issue that progressives fulminate about is dressed up in the garish garb of equality. Progressives -- so-called "liberals," a.k.a. "the Left" -- invoke equality as though there were no arguments against it, as though no decent, sane person could possibly have a beef with equality. After all, equality is so -- American.
"All Fords are created equal, it's your dealer that makes the difference," proclaims the Bob Allen Ford dealership of Overland Park, Kansas.
For progressives, equality is an end in itself, and a higher value than freedom, happiness, or prosperity. This is especially the case with progressive economists. For them, inequality explains all evils.

Progressives' fixation on equality is as daft as Obama's campaign slogan of "change." Change is something that's inescapable; it will always exist. Whereas equality is a condition that can never exist in the real world we inhabit.
If that's so, why then do progressives drone on and on about a condition that cannot be realized? The answer is precisely because it can't be realized -- progressives can beat their ideological enemies over the head with the "cudgel of inequality" until the end of time, it will always be there for them.

In Obama's America, what absorbs many Americans isn't inequality, it's dashed hopes and a blighted future. They don't fret about inequality; they worry about things never getting better (or perhaps getting even worse). They see a government that doesn't listen to them and then crams things down their throats, like ObamaCare. But where's the opportunity, where're the jobs? They look across the Atlantic at once-great nations that are reeling under a debt crisis, and yet their own government refuses to do anything about the debt crisis heading to America. For these Americans, worrying about inequality would be a luxury.
Because progressives are so bereft of ideas, they hold up the impossible as what America should be striving for. Rather than something attainable, progressives aim for the "ideal." Inequality has become an excuse. Progressives who really want to help Americans would focus on improving folks' lot in life, not making everyone materially equal. And the way to start doing that is to dispense with the idiotic rhetoric.
Progressive values are not the values that built America, nor any great nation. The values that make for greatness include competence, merit, and excellence. By definition, none of those values involves equality.
Come on, America. We were once a creditor nation. We were once a space-faring nation. We once dared to dream great dreams. But now, by so many metrics, America is in decline. And what do progressives harp on and on about?

Obama's Mask Slips

Much is being made of the devastating blow that Mitt Romney administered to President Obama in the first presidential debate Wednesday night. Romney was masterful; Obama was incomprehensible. Romney was presidential; Obama was incoherent. Romney schooled Obama; Obama responded by doing the hand motions to "The Wheels On the Bus Go Round and Round." Republicans and conservatives alike were cheering. Even Romney skeptics like me happily conceded that Romney was the right guy all along. There will be an October surprise from the Obama camp, but they got one themselves Wednesday night.
Obama was rambling, fumbling, stuttering. He was terrible. This was a great night for freedom-lovers. If sixty million Americans were watching, freedom has a shot at resuscitation. Even Obama's own camp was crestfallen. Bill Maher tweeted: "Obama made a lot of great points tonight. Unfortunately, most of them were for Romney." And: "I can't believe I'm saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter." Maher is noticing only now? Andrew Sullivan tweeted in dismay: "This is a rolling calamity for Obama."
But is Obama worried? Not for a second. He doesn't care. Because that's not his job. Obama is merely the pretty face for the über-left monster. Let's face it: Obama is merely a figurehead. A happy face for the anti-American, anti-individual, anti-capitalist revolution. He's a movie star, nothing more. He's an impressive façade with nothing behind it, like a Hollywood set. But the American people should be concerned about his puppet masters: Reverend Wright, George Soros, Bill Ayers, and a cabal of Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood operatives. That's who's running the country.

The presidential election has the Left in panic mode. In addition to preparing brigades of lawyers to challenge every alleged irregularity and try to reverse the voters verdict in court if need be, the Obama administration and its leftwing boosters are looking to an international cavalry of election observers to save them.
The Hill has reported that United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. on Election Day. There will be at least forty-four foreign observers sent by The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which is a regional inter-governmental organization that engages in democratization and human rights projects in partnership with the United Nations. Their job will be to assess these elections for compliance with international obligations and standards for democratic elections according to the OSCEs Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

The Wave That Breaks the Liberal Bubble

Can you feel it?
The wave, that is. I speak of one that will wash away far more than just a failed presidency. This wave will have the torque to rock the entire liberal bubble -- the political/media/crony bubble -- leaving it forever exposed. Ironically, those inside this bubble will be the last to know -- which is precisely why it will happen. Those who would rule over us, and insult us with outrage over Big Bird, academic debate-scoring, "binders" memes, and specious jobs statistics know nothing about us. This includes those inside the bubble who purport to represent our views.
But we know them well. For the record, "we" refers to the quarter of the country that never bought into the fraudulent vapor of Obama and who lost respect for anyone who did. Even post-election, when 70% plus of the nation was in this stupor, we knew it was Marxist voodoo that could not last.
It did not. Early in 2009, per Rasmussen, another 25% got over the phony high of Obama's election. Since then, Obama's been underwater on approval .
Millions more have joined this narrow majority in the past weeks. Debates have been the catalysts, but this epiphany has been building for much longer -- and now it's reached critical mass. There is now understanding of the shallowness of Obama and of liberalism. Everything said by the supposedly racist, mean-spirited conservatives has been validated.
Doggone it...I think they've been right all along.
