They are...and this will solidify their control of American government for generations.

The recent reversals at the polls reflect not the Democrats overreach but their unwillingness to exercise the mandate they were given at the polls. Democrats stayed home and independents rejeced their willingness to compromise. Now Obama seems ready to do what the Democrats were elected to do. He will set goals, set policies to reach them and cram them down the Republicans' throats.

First, you don't mandate congress to do anything, even if they are in your party. Second, their failure might not have anything to do with reelection or disagreement would it?
