Maybe not. On the other hand she was present in December when Trump discussed seizing voting machines. She was present, vocal and publicly supported for her efforts in trying to overturn the election results. She did just plead guilty to taking voting data.

Trump can and will try to distance himself. The problem is that he wasn't doing so until he was forced out office. She has first hand close in information on both the actions taken after the elections and can speak to what was said when Trump and his "lawyers" where literally talking about seizing voting machines.

“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,” Giuliani and another lawyer for Trump, Jenna Ellis, said in a statement.

Actually they already had a proffer meeting. Meaning they know exactly what she'll say during testimony. Considering the deal she ended up getting chances are it's going to be extremely helpful for the prosecution.
