It's gotten too far out of hand. In several places the rioters are heading into residential districts. Gotta wonder whent he mayors and governors will call in their NG and put an end to this crap. Protest all you want, it's a free country. But start with the rioting, burning, and violence and you ain't a protester anymore, you are a criminal.

That will cause the populace to begin taking the problem into their own hands... All bets are off. They do that and they will get vigilante groups fixing the problems. They might even deal with the prosecutor, mayor, and city council as well.

Most of what is dropped are minor things that they can't really make stick, like disorderly conduct. Assault like this is a whole 'other level. It's like what happened in Charlottesville - a lot of the violence ended up not being prosecuted, but the guy that drove the truck into the crowd most certainly will be prosecuted. I think for the minor stuff - getting thrown in jail for the night is traumatic enough to make a lasting impression for many.

Biden might have made general statements but nothing directly about this as far I know. If the victim had been a black man attacked in a strongly red state or city you can bet everyone would be insisting President Trump comment on it. Since Joe Biden wants to be President I don’t feel it’s unreasonable to want him to address this directly especially since the violence and rioting in Portland has going on for nearly three months now.
