We have 2,200,000 in prison in this country. I don't think an extra 35 is a burden

The death penalty is an issue I go back and forth on. Pope Francis, of course, is against it. That much everyone knew. I think the important thing to examine is not who is against or for it, but the effects of the death penalty on society. One can argue that it functions as a deterrent to murder and horrible crime. One can also argue that it sends the wrong message to society and ultimately makes society a more cruel place.

The US stands alone with China, India and the Muslim states as the only ones still using the death penalty

And if used properly it's a good thing.
It's the responsibility of a society to execute those that showed no remorse for
despicable acts against us....

China, India, all Muslim countries, many African and Asian countries, and of course America, total up far more than half of the worlds population that still use the death penalty for capitol crimes.

Maybe liberals have a different definition for the word "majority"? .......
